We are at the point now of wanting to schedule our medical followed by interview in the next few weeks.

I want to confirm I am understanding correctly about scheduling. Please reply if you have already done it.

Scheduling Medical:

***********************

To schedule the Medical in Manila, we don't need to call for an appointment or do we ?

Can we just show up in the morning when they are open without contacting them for any medical appointment in advance ?

(Having copy of NOA2 and NVC letter of course)

Scheduling USEM Interview:

*****************************

I have the phone number we can call to schedule USEM interview. We don't need any letter directly from USEM Manila before we can call to schedule or arrive for the interview correct ?

I mean once scheduled they are supposed to send a confirmation letter (packet) to my fiance right but we don't have to wait for this ?

We don't have to recieve this letter before we arrive at the scheduled USEM interview as long as we have prepared the documents, forms that are on this letter before we show up ?

I heard of some people not getting this letter in hand for a long time. That's why I ask. I want to make sure we don't need this appointment letter in hand.

From what I understood we don't have to have USEM interview letter in hand or (K Packet) as long as we have the completed forms required below:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf and scheduled USEM Interview by phone.

*************************************************

I would appreciate a reply from those that have already done this. I'm preparing a copy of the "Medical Walkthrough" and a few other instructions to send my fiancee. I won't be with her for medical but will be for the USEM Interview.

Thanks very much for your comments. VJ has been a huge help to both of us this far :)

Take your NOA and passport, just follow the instructions as what you'll need to have with you.

St. Luke's Medical Center

There are two facilities called, "St. Luke's": one in Quezon City and one in Ermita, Manila. You must go to the one in Ermita, Manila. All K1 K3 and K2 visa applicants must complete a medical examination at St. Luke's Extension Clinic. These fees are also payable in Philippine pesos.

St. Luke's Extension Clinic is located at 1177 J. Bocobo St., Ermita, Manila, Telephone Numbers 521-0020 and 521-8647. It is open for business Monday through Friday (except on Philippine holidays), from 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. When you go to SLMCEC for medical examination, you must bring your passport and one photo (size: 2" x 2"). http://www.stluke.com.ph

It is important that you must have completed your medical examination when you come to the Embassy for your visa interview. Otherwise, your visa application will be refused or you may be asked to return for another appointment. The medical examination results are delivered directly to the Embassy.

First-Come, First-Served

Applicants are examined on a first-come, first-served basis. Medical examinations may take more than one day to complete. Female applicants may request a female doctor to perform the examination. Unless it is necessary, do not bring companions due to space limitation at the clinic.

Fees

The medical examination fee is US$213.35 for adults (15 years of age or older) and US$185.35 for children (14 years of age or younger). Repeat X-rays will cost US$7 each. Fees must be paid only in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.

hi there!

Just to make it clear, the medical is done before the interview. the results of the medical are a major part of the visa process, which if the embassy doesn't have at the time of interview could result in delays in the visa approval.

yes, st. luke's appointment is not required. just go there any day (opens at 7am) w/the necessary docs (the NOAs you have/MNL/case no. passport, 2 ID photos to be submitted to the embassy together w/medical results, medical fees) make sure your fiancee doesn't have her period when she goes there.

yes, you can schedule for an interview already, chances are your fiancee's case is already w/the USEM or on its way there. in any case, as long as she already has a case no (MNL#) she's good for an interview. just make sure the schedule you will get will leave you plenty of time to gather all the docs she needs and supporting docs that would come from you, such as the affidavit of support.

good luck and god bless.
