Hi All,

When I submitted our I-130 package I used what I though was my wifes new name. First Middle Last. Now she wants to use First Maiden Last. She will be getting her passport renewed using the latter name and I will use that name on future paperwork submitted. Is it going to be a problem because I used a slightly different name in the I-130 Package? Can I do or submit something now to provide clarification the the USCIS or NVC? Or should I not worry about this as long as her passport and remaining paperwork match.:blink:

I used my wifes maiden name for the I-130 but she wanted to change her passport to her married name. So i was concerned and asked a member here who went through it. This was their reply and is what i plan on doing.

"

Since this is the name she is now using I would use the married name on the DS-230 you will submit to NVC. The DS-230 asks for the current family name (which would be her married name) and there is also a box for other names used where she would put her maiden name. That would clear up any discrepancies between the I-130 petition and the DS-230."

TeyaValentina - I think these are just estimated dates. I think we should take the worse case scenario and take the June 15th as the day you will receive your NOA2. If you get it early, then that is just great and you can be happy about it. But if you expect it to be around May 12th time frame and it doesn't show up, then you will become very impatient.

Although these are just estimates I am very glad to have at least some timelime - not knowing anything at all would be even harder (yea, I know, the timeline probably is not all that exact, but still).

Mine just changed again from jun12th-july14th to jun11th-july11th

Having one of my "pissed-days"- Life just isn't all that easy for me right now (a lot of serious health issues) and I really could need my husband here with me...Thanks to the wonderful immigration procedures I have to go through all this alone and it just is not fair!!

The rate at which USCIS is approving the I130s is very depressing. I think some of us here have been waiting for 2 months now (not me) and they haven't heard anything. USCIS should start working harder and start to approve some applications soon for March filers. Need some good news from a few here.

Also, did you guys notice that CSC processing time frame keeps going up. It went from 80 days to 86 days now and it doesn't look good with the H1 visa applications being processed.

Becoming very impatient now. :help:

Hello candaceman. USCIS website says it takes 2-4 weeks to get your notifications (NOA1). Since you sent yours on April 26th, they most likely got it on April 28-29th. So you should be getting something either this week or next week.

As for the April filers, search for the following and you should be able to find the April one. There are two for some reason.

April 2010 CR1 Filers

APRIL 2010 (I-130) FILERS

Thanks.

I don't think it is all that bad..USCIS timeline is 5months...So I don't think having to wait for a couple of months without getting any kind of notice is all that bad...5months - that would be Aug/September. So the 86 days processing time really aren't depressing but uplifting (at least in my opinion).

I just get so angry sometimes. I understand that the US have to make sure that the marriages are bona fide and all that, but there are way more humane ways to do so.

I just do not get it. I am sick but that is not a reason to expedite just because I am not the USC.Don't I have some rights, too?

But no, that's alright, what do the US care about a foreigner that needs their husband/wife?

This whole immigration process is so messed up, it is unbelievable. And the ones that have to pay are (as always I guess) the ones that havent done anything wrong. I am sitting here, well aware of the fact that I just have limited time to live my life/have children and all that. That I should live every day. Then I wonder how many of my dreams I will have to give up because of this long long long journey. 8 months is a lot of life - and we all are missing out on that time.

Sorry, had to vent a little...I am sure some of you understand.

Understand your completely. I guess we will have to live with it but I just hope that they start processing it much quicker than the pace they are at right now. The 86days is from VJ website and does not include other applicants who are not on this forum. So i think the 5 month to get through USCIS is very plausible now for me. I hope you get your NOA2 soon.

Its not just the US Government. I was born in Germany and a few years back I tried to get info from the government office in the town I was born and well let me say I was not received with open arms...Funny how nobody speaks English when it you who wants something.

But what are you going to do...

There should be a provision for certain groups of people getting a CR1 such as families with children. That one sucks as well. (Venting myself). I know that the estimates are just estimates an I don't expect to get an NOA2 until August 1st or after so I'm good. Some people on here have more luck than others.

Hey Teya,

I agree. But then the people without children etc would start complaining. Guess no matter what there will always be somebody that is unhappy with the immigration process.
