Question regarding Medical

Hi There,

I posted on here about a week ago regarding issues with Dr. Seidan being unable to complete my medical. I was sent for further testing for an issue with my throat and am still waiting for the results. I was told by the ultrasound clinic my results could take up till Friday to come in, and then I still need to speak with my actual doctor regarding them and any other steps that must be taken to clear the issue up.

My interview is Tuesday March 23rd. My Husband's flying up from Chicago on the 20th (Saturday) and we're leaving Monday the 22nd for Montreal. I strongly believe my medical issue will not be cleared up by the interview date. I was given a piece of paper by Dr. Seidan that basically in his handwriting says ''I need a medical note explaining the such and such issue and all results from tests done by a Doctor''

It's written on the paper given to you if you miss vaccinations (I have none of those missed..he crossed out all vac's and wrote the note in the corner in pen) so it has his name and office numbers on it.

When I go to the interview, do I just show them that and explain why my medical isn't competed? And once I get my results and fax them to Dr. Seidan, what do I do with my medical? Mail it to the consulate?

Thanks again everyone, you're always so helpful :)

At the interview, when you are asked for your medical documents, you would hand over the note that you have and explain the steps you're taking to complete what's required. Then, when you fax your info to Dr. Seiden and his office finds everything in order, they will mail your medical documents (sealed) to you, which you in turn would mail to Montreal.

This will likely put a bit of a delay on the issuance of your visa, I'm sorry to say. But at the very least, you should be told at the interview whether or not you've been approved pending your medical exam results. That means, long as you receive that sealed envelope (which is Dr. Seiden's seal of approval), you'll have the visa issued as soon as Montreal gets back to processing your case.

Thank you so much. Do you know anything about how long it takes after I mail the medical to Montreal for them to review and issue the visa (if I'm approved pending medical)?

I have not had any experience with this but I think this thread might help. Good luck.

My situation was similar to yours except i got my results before my interview.

I would recommend you make a copy of the paper you got from Dr. Seiden, reffering you to have medical note etc. as well as get a note from the doctor or lab that you went to saying you had the recommended tests done and are just waiting for the results. Bring these with you to the interview. You most likely will get a visa "approved pending satisfactory medical".

In the mean time what you can do is ask your lab/doctor to immediately fax the results back to Dr. Seiden. I gave my doc a copy of the letter From Dr. Seiden, and once Dr. Seiden got the results it only took 2 days for me to get my sealed envelope via Fedex.

Then you would use this address to send back the results to Montreal. I would use a reputable courier with a signature receipt since it is the ONLY COPY of your medical that is being sent to the consulate. I believe you would put it to attention IV immigration Unit. (not 100% sure on this you may want to ask at your interview to be safe)

Location 1155 rue St-Alexandré

for courier deliveries

From what i have read in various threads, it usually takes a few weeks for Montreal to acknowledge receipt of the package and sent you your visa. BrockU and Smurfette if i recall were two of the recent ones who were waiting for their visa after sending in extra documents. Their posts might shed more light on the expected timeframe your looking at.

Unfortunately, as Montreal is always three steps behind, it seems, it could take them some time between receiving your additional documents, logging those documents, and then issuing you a visa. Hopefully, with something as simple as it being a medical package (aka, they don't really need to pass judgment on what you're sending them... proof of having passed the medical will be enough for their purposes), it shouldn't take too long for issuance of the visa.

Good luck to you! Hope everything goes well with both the interview and the results.
