Is it a good ideal for me as an American to come for her interview

any one coments welcome

You can go if you would like to. But she will be okay on her own. I was going to my Fiancee's interview on Jan 14th but we had set back when her having to do the Sputum test. She will get her results tomorrow, If she has passed then they will set her interview which she will attend without me. I would love to be there to show support but work is stopping me from doing that.

it depends. if your fiancee is confident enough, you don't need to, -especially if you have to fly there. but if you're already there it will definitely help her confidence.

also, if you read USEM manila's policy, they only allow those to be interviewed to go in, but if the security guard lets you in, might as well take advantage. a lot of USCs get away with it :)

I flew over to be with my fiancee, and carried the financial support docs with me. I went with her to the embassy, and stayed with her as she had her fingerprints, pre-screen interview, etc. I wasn't expecting to be able to be with her during the actual interview, but they let me go with her. The CO asked me as many questions as her, but it only lasted ten or fifteen minutes. She thought it made all the difference by having me there, but we have had no problems with any of the process.

There certainly is the added cost of the trip...

It can't hurt. You will be allowed in the embassy...whether or not the CO will want you in the room during the interview, that is up to them. At least in Manila it is not almost a requirement to be there like some consulates.

I went to Hazel's interview, and it was overkill. Honestly do not worry about a denial. So long as you meet poverty requirements. The interview is a formality. Just be sure she has a copy of all paperwork submitted, and all new paperwork, and fees completed.

I'm with George on this one, I don't think it's necessary to go to the interview. My Milagros is tough stuff, and she can handle a simple interview.. It would be too expensive, and I don't have enough vacation days to be present for the interview.. If you've got the time & money, go for it.. Otherwise put the money aside that you would have spent and let her go on a shopping spree when she gets here.

it's a double edged sword. It can be very good if you know your fiance. or it can be a very bad idea if you don't know your fiance because if the CO asks you a question and you give the wrong or inconsistant answer that could cause him to be suspicious and make the interview longer and harder. It all depends if you on your knowledge on your fiance
