Jamaica's Extradition Refusal - Dudus

In about a month, I will submit my fiance's K-1 App. But, I am concerned that Jamaica/U.S. relations are presently strained with JA's refusal to honor the U.S. extradition request for Dudus - Area Leader and "Businessman". It has been rumored that consequently the visa's of several prominent Jamaican political figures have been cancelled. The US Government hinted that its relationship with the Jamaican Government could deteriorate if Dudus and others are not extradited quickly. Whilst, I am not fully informed on the details of why Jamaica is not cooperating. I have been waiting 5 years to be eligible for Citizenship and subseqently to be able to file this K-1. I cannot afford for it to be denied over some diplomatic war. Should I wait until things cool down to file?

as much i love jamaica, i think the us/ja diplomacy will fail if dudus isnt extradicted to the us. i think we can expect trade embargo, denial of visas, heighten security. lord knows i and other jamaicans dont want this to happen, especially when there are relatives living in ja. it probably would hamper ones travel in and out usa to ja. wow, i just hope it does not escalate worse for i have a step child there. we have to really pay close attention to this matter. as a usc, i think bruce golding ought to seriously look into the situation for the good of both countries.

Honestly I don't think Jamaica can afford to let this happen...as we all know tourism is the #1 industry there and the majority come for the US.

firstly(my opinion i don't think that should impact your situation if you got a good case. Dont want to really single out any countries, but the US and a lot of countries dont have the best of relations, yet persons immigrate from those country all the time, providing the meet the requirements. Secondly, extraditing him might be good for the US, but the JA gov has also got the issue of the wave of violence this might spiral across the island, and when all of that starts happening, what good will that do for tourism anyways. Thirdly, he is Jamaican, but that doesn't necessarily means he is there.

Another Mama Jew on the way!!!!!

I could not agree more.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

By time you are ready to file, the fees might have increased by then. Does anyone think this is the reson why its taking so long to get NOA2 because of this Dudus situation? Going on 4 months and counting for at least a touch from USCIS. I will be happy with just one touch that means they knocked the dust off of it and going to review it, lol.
