Just called the NVC and got our case number. NVC said our approved petition was received yesterday and usually takes about five days before sending it off to the appropriate embassy/consulate.

I'm kind of wondering why people say to call the NVC to get your case number. Doesn't the NVC send you a notice when they receive your approved petition? I guess I just assumed the case number would be on that notice. Am I wrong?

I hope the rest of the March filers will get their NOA2's soon!

I believe the NVC letter does contain the case number. However, for those filing in the Philippines, a copy of NOA2 and the NVC case number is sufficient for the medical exam.

I received a letter in the mail box today from the NVC, saying they recently received our approved petition. The date on it is May 19, so that means the NVC received it that day? (Just so I know what date to put in my timeline) The case number is on the letter, so I guess I don't have to call.

Wow, no posts at all today? Well I edited my timeline saying that the NVC received our petition on May 19. Then just recently I found this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/194465-how-to-track-your-case-from-nvc-to-embassy/ And through doing that I found only one Helsinki Finland show up on the list, and the date it was shipped from the NVC happened to be May 19, the same date as the date on my letter from NVC. Since it's the only Finland result on the whole list and it's date is the same as the date from my NVC letter, I assumed it was mine. I hope I'm right. I edited my timeline based on that. It said it arrived in Finland on May 21. If that isn't mine I'll feel a little stupid editing my timeline from that, but hey I can always change it if I'm wrong.

I don't know about the tracking of NVC shipping to other consulates but DHL tracking to GUZ consulate is absolutely useless, the only DHL package went out to GUZ that day is still in custom clearance delay but GUZ had already received the case and P3 was received after three days.

the people at the KL embassy seem pretty nice as well, as long as you send them emails and don't call them as often as my honey did. She ran into a grouchy lady one time but the two guys she talked to were very nice. Good luck and since there aren't too many of us "KLers" keep me posted as to what is happening with you.
