Hello,

I know this topic has been addressed numerous times, however, my question varies a little bit.

My fiance and I are planning to submit the paperwork in mid-April, however, her father would like me to come the first or second weekend of may, will there be a problem getting the USA?

I ask because we all know how expensive airline tickets are.

Thanks,

R

i also have a similar question...

my fiance is now in the states...

he plans to apply the fiance visa.. and once the nvc sends the petition to the embassy here in the Philippines..he plans on coming here and go visit the other islands in the country. he loves diving and he's a dive instructor. we were planning to go to palawan and stay there for a few months or go back to boracay while waiting for the embassy to mail me a package to my parent's house. he also wishes to fly with me when i do get my visa approved. so now my question is..

if the nvc already sent it to the embassy here.. would it be ok for him to come and see me here?

will it be better to wait for the package of the embassy first before letting him come here?

i also remember reading before that the petitioner has to be domiciled or should be back in the US when the foreign fiance is being interviewed.. but from what i remember this was for the spousal visa...

do they also apply the same rule for the fiance?

should he not be in the country when i get my interview?

if this has been asked before.. my apologies.. it's 7:48am PH time and i haven't slept yet.. just reading all the posts and topics that i would need to gather information.. thank you in advance for the answers. thank u.

Getting in the U.S. is purely discretionary with the border officials. It's important that you bring sufficient evidence of ties to Canada. One of the best "ties" you can bring is a letter from your employ explaining when you're going back to work. If you send in your I-129 F in mid April, you also may have your NOA1 by the time you leave as well, which would assist, IF ASKED, to prove again, that you're applying for a visa, the legal way, so you have no intention of staying in the U.S. this visit and not return. Copies of lease agreements helps as well. You shouldn't have any trouble if you have these things.

Your question is a bit different. Your fiance can come to your country at any point in the process. If he plans on coming before the interview, so that he can be there for you, and you can both vacation before flying together to the U.S., that is no problem, if again, he has the proper documentation he needs to enter your country. Same as previous visits. I don't know about the "two months", I'm not aware in your country, how you go about making appointments for your medical, vaccinations, and such before your interview, or even how long the wait is before the Embassy gets the package from NVC, and how you or the Embassy schedules interviews! You'd better look into that...

But as far as your fiance being in your country for the interview, sure! He may even be able to attend the interview with you. Please check out your country's website or email them or call them to see if that's possible. If he can't go into the Embassy for the interview, at least he'll be waiting for you outside, which I'm sure will be emotional support for you.
