Well it depends WHERE but 221(g) relates to approval/denial in terms of the visa process... where is it?

221(g) is a temporary refusal of the visa. It means you are in administrative processing/review until some document or information is verified. It's not uncommon and most persons in AR will only have a delay of 2-4 weeks.
