Hey Kirk,

There is no official packet when starting the process - the packets you will see reference to hear (packet 3 and packet 4 for example) are packets sent fromt he consulate to the beneficiary.

You can get a list of all forms needed in the guides section here under the K-1 process.

It is recomended that you make a list of all the necessary forms and go to the USCIS website and print them (to make sure they are all the latest and greatest.

In addition there will be some documents you will need to create (Such as fiance and finacee letters of intent) and samples can be found here too in the sample documents.

The best advice for starting out is to print the guide and do lots of reading here so you fully understand the process. Once you have a good understanding, feel free to ask any questions you like. This is a great resource and lots of knowledgable people here.

When you start out, fill in your timeline and update it as you go and complete tasks.

For the I129F petition you will need to following

I129F form

G325A for the petitioner (you)

G325A for the beneficiary (your sweety)

Copy of Birth Certificate (petitioner)

Copy of passport pages (petitioner)

Letter of Intent to Marry (petitioner)

Letter of Intent to Marry (beneficiary)

Proof of having met within the past two years.

---We also submitted proof of ongoing relationship---

As you go you will read about frontloading - it is optional but many recommend it to some degree. All depends on your circumstances and the consulate you are going through.

In our case - I sent proof of our meeting (initial meeting) and also proof from our subsequent visits which occured prior to filing the petition.

That should be enough to get you started.

Good Luck and Best Wishes on you "Visa Journey"

Bernie
