Its best to wait until she receives the official letter from the Embassy in Manila. It will say something to the effect "your case is scheduled for a visa interview, etc.,etc." She can then use that letter and show them at St. Lukes. That is what my wife did.

I'm kinda new at this but, from what I've been reading on this forum, your Fiance needs to have the interview invitation letter in hand when she shows up for the medical. However, it is from my experience that you guys should schedule the appointment with medical examiner ASAP. In Saigon they are all backed up about 3 weeks to a month.

I'm in that situation now. My fiance just went to get an appointment for her medical and they said the earliest they can see her is March 24th, but her interview is March 16th. The medical facility (IOM) said that she can just show up for the interview with the medical appointment letter and then do the medical after. I hope they're are right.

Worlds away, but always in my heart.

It took my wife 9 days to receive her letter from the USEM. Wait for the letter.

I have never heard of someone being allowed to interview without the medical first. Are you sure? It would be sad to be turned away at your interview because you were misguided.

You don't need the letter from the embassy to take the advance medical. To take your advance medical, all you need is a copy of the NOA2 and you must know the Manila case number. If you search the region specific Philippine forum, you will see NUMEROUS posts on this topic. Many people have gone through the entire system (medical and interview) without ever receiving their embassy letter. Once you know the embassy has received your packet from NVC (you do this by calling NVC and asking them when the packet was shipped to the embassy), then you can begin calling the embassy (about a week after shipping date) to schedual your interview. If they have your packet from NVC and it is in their system, they will schedual you a date which will likely be about 30-45 days ahead. You need to have the medical done at least one week prior to your interview. If you read the Manila embassy website, it says that you can expect your letter of appointment in 3-5 months!! That's why many VJ'rs have made their own tracks and picked up the phone.

Good luck!

Now that I read your post, I guess that's what I meant the NOA2.

NOA2 copy and MNL case# are sufficient. Be sure that she bring 4 pcs. passport size photos, passport and Php10,500 with her.

Good luck!
