Dont get me wrong I know you can do it there but here you can get govt money to start a business and things like that and in Jamaica I have never heard of that. But I could be wrong. So if I am let me know. Thats what I was saying only in that aspect

Not that you cant make it there because we have bought land in Jamaica and Im moving back there eventually and I know for a fact that it is possible, I have very prominent family in laws they make it do what it do there, its just harder to come by then here.

You can do the same thing in Jamaica, sis. It just take a little longer.

Hey Philly....my mom is trying to get her sister and three kids over here...she is trying to find a good lawyer (and cheap) so they can process the visa paperwork...its going to be a lot for my mom though...her sister doesn't work and her three kids are all young...my mom and my aunt were the ones taking care of her and her kids back in Haiti....it will be harder for her if when they are here.....but its too crazy for them to be out there...Its tough...

Oh Sis I will keep you and your family in my prayers I know this is like a double edged sword because you want them to come and be here and be safe and prosper but it may also be a stress-or for your family if she does not step up when she gets here. It's not easy but you are right it's too crazy out there right now. I pray everything works out for your Sis!

yes girl.. it was hard becuz roger keeps my phone while at work so ididn't get my sisters text when the dr called her.

i went to the hospital as my regular visit after work.. the nurse told me he was moved but didnt say why..

when i got there.. the chaplain greeted me with "im sorry for ur loss" i was like

it was heartbreaking cuz he seemed to be doing SOOO well, but God wanted him to get well enough to get RIGHT..

the last time i saw him.. we were all listening to a sermon his cousin had recorded and my dad listened to the WHOLE thing, he had wanted my sister to sing to him but she wasn't there so we listend to that instead..

he told me how overwhelmed he was from everybody's outpour of love and attention that mnth he was in hospital..most of us he hadn't seen in years.. he told me he loved me and i told himand i know any shame or condemnation was gone.. i know he gained a relationship w/ the Lord too..he was ready.. had he got back in those streets, who knows what would have happened to him..

Wow Quanna that is truly a testimony you are so right God intervened at the right time for everyone I am so glad you were able to rebuild your relationship with him

I am all for cremation - One part of my family has travelled (and now some moved) to a beach area for years - everyone in the family is cremated when they have passed, and their ashes are scattered on the same beach. With the first person, this really pretty blue butterfly appeared and was flying around us all - Since then, there is one more butterfly each time someone passes - and the only place down there we see them is on this beach.

I know the CT Lawyers are doing a ton of probono work for this, probably NY too - Here is a link to the CT attorney info, they have clinics, etc...

We are in the eyes of others in countries where it is hard. We take alot for granted and think its suppose to be given to us!!! And it makes others that come here think in a way that is suppsoe to happen.

IMO that is the case sometimes not all the time but sometimes.

Ive worked 22 LONG DYAAM YEARS at the same job, which I believe due to the economy would let my rass go if need be, but I have an alternate plan on ready set go just incase! I am proud to say at the age of almost 40 years old I have returned to college to get my degree so that I no longer would have a job but a "career" at doing something I enjoy doing which is working with children.... So me lazy, nah sis.. in addition to that I was taking care of my sick mom, working full-time, school part-time, help raising my nephew and niece and helping my sick brother, raising one child who is bipolar.. where is the LAZINESS in that???

Afternoon Yardies!

That's what I was thinking the other day too. Since going to JA in Nov '07, I've never been away this long & it's only been about 8 months. I'm really starting to miss it.....that is until I start figuring the costs with two of us. We can no longer stay a yaad because his relatives pilfered all of his furniture & we'd have nothing to sleep, sit, or eat on & nothing to cook on except for a fire outside. Not really my idea of a fun vacation. So, now we have to factor in car rental (cause that's one thing we both insist on), a minimum of 10 days at a resort & air fare which is also pretty expensive from the West Coast. I'm thinking at the very minimum $3000 for a trip there now. Won't be able to afford anything like that for a LOOOONG time & I'm not about to get back into debt after just paying off the CC. Ah so ie go!

question...what do you think about cremation.. i personally have nothing against it, but some familymembers are tripping for real.. my dad has no money and cremation is the most affordable route but for a couple more hundred we could have just a gravesite burial w/ no head stone..

just looking for a lil more knowledge on the subject

Nat --- they use the rooms to pump milk if they do not have a private office. We have them here at work and I did the same thing because I didn't have an office at the time.

Ness, I HATE you! No, I don't....but I'm jealous cause you look GREAT!! That belly is huge but the rest of you is still hot! And I have a feeling you're going to spring right back to your former hot self. When I decide to have a child, I might as well say goodbye to ever having a chance at a nice body again (especially seeing as how I didn't start out that way to begin with). Anyway, looking good mi fren & the nursery is very cute too!
