I would take this approach:

1. contact NVC, get a human, give them the USCIS casenumber - see if they have generated an NVC casenumber. Don't fret if they haven't - it may be that NVC won't touch this case, 2nd time around (not sure).

2. set up infopass appointment - talk with human, face to face. IF cannot determine WHERE the casefile is, then submit 'service request' at the appointment.

you've been in AP on many levels, many times. for now, I think yer still 'within guidelines' of the timing - for the casefile to 'leave USCIS and go to DOS'.

IIRC, though, isn't DOS the Consular group, at this point, for you?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It sounds as if you had a returned petition. The normal procedure in this case is that they would send it to the NVC. The NVC would then forward it to the consulate. The consulate will schedule an interview.

So all in all it sounds very positive. It does take some time to get it back to the consulate, so be patient. Ours was reaffirmed the first part of Sept of 06, but they didn't contact my husband for the second interview until November. Once they did call they scheduled the interview in 1 week, so be prepared with updated forms.
