wow popular subject.

After the first 3 pages I just couldnt read anymore.

Bottomline is no one is concerned about age gaps between couples. Judgement in life is left to God.

So if there is 50yrs age gap so what? more happy couples the better. If they make it or not thats their business.

That's true...but what about when we are at the mercy of officials who can decide in one moment if we can be together or not?

Hello, I can't really give you numbers on "how many" but I know there are more than you can suspect. My husband and I were approved and there is a 16 year age difference. We really don't think about it unless it is brought up by someone. Since we went through Lagos, which is known for being a very very difficult consulate, I feel that front loading the application with every bit of evidence (even included hotel receipts) at the beginning of the process as well as being very well prepared at the interview stage helped our case get approved (and needless to say prayer of course was utmost important).

God Bless you on your journey and Stay Strong!

If you feel comfortable doing the paperwork on your own, then it can be done...the only reason you would need an attorney is if your case was complicated. From what I have read most attorneys just slow up the process and charge a bundle of money for something you can do on your own and with the help of VJ members

God Bless you also on your journey and stay strong too!

Thanks for help and support :)

God = Visa Officer in Casablanca? Then I agree with you.

Otherwise, your 'post' is pedantic. Yer making a collection of these, btw. I pray you stop, soon.

To 'be pedantic' is not useful for folk seeking advice here. In fact, your 'writings' have a high probability of being hurtful, should one actually follow your advice.

Hello!

As one person who has just been denied. The only thing they focused on was an age differnce. 15 years. The couple of questions that they did ask all had to do with age. If someone is reading this to see if there could be problems in your future because of it the answer is....yes. You have to be prepared for heartache, extra time apart to appeal, or to move to your spouse's country. It is wonderful, and I am very happy for those that do not encounter difficulties but you have to be realistic going into it that the love that you two feel and share may not be the way that the CO looks at it. I am not trying to be negative, I am just saying be in it for the long run and I wish you the best.

Alas, rade2rising gives exceptionally bad 'advice' since he joined vj.

I truly wish, nay, I Pray to the God, that he'd shut up.

ANYONE that follows his advice, from yesterday to the first day he joined, is doomed to fail,

as

his advice was wrong.

I know that this thread is basically about the age gap(yes there is 17 years difference between my husband and myself), but it seems to me that one thing that people doesn't seem to notice and I am sure it raises a larger red flag than the age difference is the question does the beneficiary have any RELATIVES all ready in the US?

Only through my reading and talking with couples whose SO are in pending AP/AR or are all ready here in the US have I realized that alot of them have family here. Possibly another red flag that is worthy of checking out?

Was doing some searching on VJ and saw this thread, it seems it's been around for some time now. I am 15 years older than my MOROCCAN husband. We have been together since 2009 and his visa was approved the same day of his interview. You would think him being from Morocco, his interview would have been harsh with our age difference, but never the less he was approved on the spot. We have been married since February 2011, and life is wonderful and I would do it all over again.

I admire all of you going through this process and those of you who are still waiting to be with your loved ones.
