Would it cause a problem if our co-sponsor is my fiance's brother who lives in the US?

11/2009 1st visit to Morocco (2 weeks), Officially Proposed, Engagement Party!!

12/31/2009 K1 NOA1

2/26/2010 NOA2 APPROVED!!!

3/2010 2nd trip to Morocco (3.5 months)

5/18/2010 Interview Results: told to wait for call

6/14/2010 Visa denied per Section 221(g)

9/27/2010 NOID (Notice of Intent to Deny) Received

12/1/2010 NOID Reaffirmed & Returned for visa processing (back to Casa for another interview)

2/2/2011 Rebuttle Interview: APPROVED!!!

3/18/2011 VISA IN HAND!!

4/8/2011 Arrive in US through JFK (20 mins total time)

6/9/2011 MARRIED!!!

7/2013 Divorced

(I think you have a typo in your signature - 2/28/2009?)

Any US citizen or LPR can be a sponsor. So as long as he can prove status he is ok.

That being said, the circumstances of each case are unique. And I know nothing about you other than what you have posted here. If the CO was questioning the validity of the relationship then having a member of the beneficiary's family be the co-sponsor COULD (add lots of emphasis) work against you. Not trying to scare you, just trying to think of the worst case scenario. Assuming that is not an issue, future brother-in-law is OK.

Another question...for Moroccan ppl: have they been asking for the affidavit at the interview??

my husband's brother who lives in san deigo signed the affadavit papers for him cause my income was too low.

and they didn't ask him for the papers there.

07/21/11 filed AOS off tourist visa

07/28/11 USCIS cashed check

07/30/11 Recieved NOA1 and Biometrics letter

08/24/2011 Biometrics

08/25/2011 RFE sent to us for some info we've already sent in

08/30/2011 sent in the rest of info USCIS asked for

09/13/2011 went to congressman's office to sign papers for expedite of work permit, due to financial hardship

09/15/2011 Work permit expedite approved!! He can finally find a job!

09/24/2011 work permit arrives

09/26/2011 Apply for social security number!

09/30/2011 Letter is sent for interview

11/07/2011 INTERVIEW!!!

Its 2012 and still no approval! Still waiting

01/27/2012 Letter sent stating that file was sent on for more review :(

We had ours ready if they did ask, but they did not ask for it.

We were not asked for our affadavit of support at the interview....
