Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I haven't ask for your help.Since I got all my papers staright, we are planning to visit Romania this summer.

We were looking at some tickets and the cheapest one(British Airlines) is $1,400...this is not what I expected.I have two q 4 you guys.Is it cheaper to buy tickets through a travel agency or online?

And second...since I a conditional perm resident , not a US citizen..do I need to fly back through Washington or New York?Does ut matter what customs?I found one that it has the first stop in US, in Dallas.

Try www.Kayak.com or www.vayama.com I've used both of these web sites to fly to Eastern Europe and they were always cheaper than either booking directly through the airline or through a travel agent.

Your POE will not be a factor. Any US POE will process you back in.

P.S. On one trip to Romania I flew to Chisinau, Moldova and took the railway to Bucharest. It was a terrific overnight train trip and I loved when the train stopped at the Romanian border to change the wheels on the train.

Kaven Travel used to have good fares to Romania (back when I was married to a Romanian born woman) but that was a while ago. http://www.kaventravel.com/

Use some of the other online search engines to see lots of fares (Orbitz, Kayak, etc.)

Just be thankful you won't be traveling on Tarom. Awful cabin crews.

Also another good tip is to look at night for a trip - not during the day when demand is highest - If you book in advance you can usually get them for 700 round trip. Also try to plan trip flying in and out on a Thursday or Tuesday. These are the slowest travel days.

You can also try - cheaptickets.com, hotwire.com

hotwire has a 30 day search engine - you can enter in your information and they will search the best fares within that window.

If you have American Express card you can buy tickets much cheaper.

Lot Polish Airline and Cza Czech Airline offers cheaper tickets but they fly only to Budapest,Hungary.

The custom doesn't matter.
