Hi it says the california timeline to get your second notice of action is at five months...Just wondering if that is accurate or if it is possible that it may get done sooner there. My friend said hers took about 3 months a year ago. Just curious any info would help, thanks

It can go faster, but H1Bs get processed in the spring, and we went about 2 months with no approvals last year, so -- could be that those filing shortly will have the usual average wait.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

Hi, the 5 months is from USCIS and is hit or miss. Some cases are done in a month (typically military expedites) but most are done around 3 months. You should create a VJ timeline and it will give a general idea of how long your case should take. More info on creating a timeline is HERE

Good luck and God Bless!

Right now CSC is processing petitions filed on or about November 20, 2009 (according to the timelines). I would assume from what I've been seeing that for a RFE-free petition that 3-4 months processing would be expected.

***However, the official USCIS processing time posted on the www.USCIS.gov site still shows a 5 month procesing timeframe and USCIS will not reply with anything other than their standard "your case is within normal timeframe" if you ask them before then.
