Yesterday I received in the mail a USCIS notice of requirement to file a joint petition to ROC. It was a reminder.

I was kind of surprised because I read on the guide here that I would NOT be sent a reminder.

I am filling it in the beginning of March.

Has anyone else received this notice?

Yes - I received one even though I was told that I will not get a reminder and it is our responsibility to remember to file. It is good you got it, so get started and get your application, evidence and most importantly your $$$$ put together and mail it so you can come wait with all of us who are still eagerly waiting to hear from them :P

I got one. I still find it funny that it didn't have any information on when the earliest and latest dates are that it should be filed (even though I know they have this information). Just like the government...

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

My husband hasn't gotten one yet and his 90 day window opens Feb. 26th. How close to your window did you get the notice?

It is not a guaranteed thing... you don't have to wait for them to send you one. When you are eligible, then go ahead and mail it...

I received mine around a month before I can apply... I think it depends on who is looking at your file and how diligent they are.

I know its not guaranteed. Its just that earlier in the thread someone said its a "new thing". I was just curious to know the timing of when people received it. Thanks. So if a month is the magic time, we're obviously not getting one!!

We're pretty much set to file, just waiting for the appointed day! :star:

Someone did say they got it after they filed, so there isn't really a good idea when....

good luck with this segment of your journey ;)
