13-0 for Canada over Sweden thus far late in the 3rd period! Just end the game!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Ok..I'm not much of a hockey fan, I admit...

And you can probably hear me in the background yelling...

"Where is the puck?"......(too small and too fast for me to see on tv...lol...)

But I admit, the olympics have got me interested in hockey....

Though I have one problem....I don't know who to cheer for...

US Team...I'm a US Citizen....and Ryan Miller (Buffalo Sabres hockey player) is the goalie....(btw..he has a cool goalie mask....with 'uncle sam' on it...)

Canadian Team...I'm a Canadian Citizen.....and Lindy Ruff (Buffalo Sabres coach) is the team coach.....(btw..I didn't know he was Canadian....interesting...)

Lol..I'm connected in all ways "locally".....:lol:

And if it ends up in an American vs. Canadian game.....(like #99 predicted in an recent interview....lol...)

I'll have to cheer for both teams....I guess...

Maybe it will all end in a tie or something.........

May both teams win olympic gold! Happy olympic watching, everyone.... :star:

Do you guys remember when (I think it was FOX) that did that highlighting puck for viewers at home?

LMAO

I think most Canadians thought that was a joke......well, at least I did.

I remember it; I thought it was pretty cool. :)

It was one of the precursors to the yellow first-down line in football broadcasts, and (to the handful of NASCAR fans in the crowd) the flags that follow the cars around the track showing speeds and positions.

God...that was horrible! It was so unnecessary too...does anyone really care about the speed that a stock car is going at any given second? Maybe the leader...but even then, it's all relative.

The speed doesn't really need to be on screen the whole time, and it's usually not. The other thing that's often in those flags, and can be helpful, is the intervals between the cars, to be able to visualize the rate of closure (or lack therof).

ok so i dunno if this is true or not, but david tells me there is a reason the usa has very crappy olympic broadcasts. it's becuz the top guy on the committee or somthign like that will not allow the states to broadcast on every us network. he tired to explain it but it sounded complicated and he said it's the same reason chicago never got hte olypics. course i was half listening. he also said the stations that can show stuff are limited in showing it after it's happend. they cannot show live streams of the events. he got quite animated while talking about it. so it's not a case of the states not caring or bothering it's that they are not allowed to do it.

Most of the national olympic committees are very aggressive in this same manner. The USOC and the IOC are made a lot of money off of selling the T.V. rights to broadcast the games in the U.S. and are very protective of their agreement. Personally, I think it's a load of ####### and a runs completely against the spirit of the olympic games.

With me being so close to the border (around 45 minutes-ish) I think I could hear the collective sounds of bumholes puckering up with each shot in the shootout of the people in Canada hahaha :)
