Hi,

My fiance is a China citizen, so getting a police certificate shouldn't be difficult (or could it). However, she went to the UK for her masters degree, and lived there for the duration. I've gone to http://www.acpo.police.uk/certificates.asp to get the document, and skimming over the instructions, the form seems to be designed for UK citizens and/or residents.

So my questions are for anyone who is not an UK citizen & resident filled out the form. Does the applicant have to translate her information such as current address into English? And does anyone have a sample for the Police Certificates App Form (preferrably from a Chinese applicant)?

Thanks

If you read page 10 of the instructions it mentions sending the form overseas. It also has places to fill in the passport issuing country of the person applying for the check (if it was UK only it wouldn't mention "issuing country").

She would not need to "translate" her current address no. Especially not the "mailing address" or anything else. As the report will be mailed to her international address, writing the address in the english format might get it "lost".

Page 11 of the instructions discuss how to go about getting payment in pounds sterling from overseas.

getting the UK Police certificate will be easy.

for police certificates in China - it's easy also.

BUT - all documents will be translated INTO english - USUALLY at a CHINESE NOTARIAL OFFICE in CHINA -
