If there was ever an underdog to root for in the Olympics, it's the Slovaks. I'm excited to see Ziggy Palffy play again!

Yeah, I'm totally in the same boat. A couple of weeks ago I did a roster comparison to the 2002 team, and THIS year's team seems far less multi-faceted...and not as many "heart" players on it.

It's a great team, but I just don't think it's as great as Russia, with Ovechkin, Semin, Malkin, Gonchar, Kovalchuk, Nabokov and a host of others. Plus, as great as Brodeur and Luongo are, they're not as hot in recent times as Nabokov, or even Bryzgalov...

It'll be interesting!

I love the wishful thinking of so many of us Canadians!! :lol:

Actually, I think Canada is pretty stout this year. Maybe not as great as its been in years past, but I find it to be a pretty strong and solid looking group. On the other hand, team USA? Not so much. A very young and inexperienced team that honestly, I can see falling apart. But, they are also full of energy and motivation, so I might be surprised!

I say... Canada- Gold, Russia-Silver, Sweden-Bronze

I'd also like to add that I have been influenced by a million online articles and TV reports on the matter :lol:

Oh yeah a Canada vs Russia final would be GREAT!

So different from years past when all the Russian players actually lived in Russia...

and the Canadians playing on home turf!! They will be seeing gold the whole time!
