I just received my NAO2 email today saying my petition was approved and I was wondering If the NVC will also notify me when they forward my application to the US consulate?

They'll send you a letter saying that they're sending it within the week. They overnight the package to Brazil.

You should have by now, your RDJ # [which is new case # in Brazil]. It takes around 2 weeks tops for your case to reach Rio. We [my fiancée and I], email the embassy with our new case # to schedule our interview. This will skip the package 3 and 4 and put you ahead of the game..

FWIW, we've been trying to do that, and Rio says they don't have the petition yet, even though the NVC says Rio has had it since the 1st. I'm guessing people have been taking too much time off preparing for Carnaval or otherwise out on summer vacation - not really a huge deal, but I wish they would at least be forthright with what's going on when it's fairly easy TO contact the NVC to find out.

We do not have a record of the referred petition. If it has just been approved, please wait until we have received it. Once we have received your petition, you will receive your information via SedEx [the Brazilian equivalent of USPS]. Please wait or contact the National Visa Center (NVC): nvcinquiry@state.gov.

In many cases the NVC will not send any notification of forwarding your case.

We never received any notification from the NVC so I called them and then they told me the date they sent our packet to the US Consulate. Never received anything in the mail. If you call make sure you have your case number from your NOA2.
