I know that the more affadavits that are there are better, but i have about 3 from india, her parents, my brother, and 3 from the US. My mom, my dad who didnt attend the wedding, and my sister who also didnt attend the wedding, also possibly one from my boss who authorized the vacation but saw the pictures of our wedding. I have pictures of me talking to my dad and my sister them which i can show, i have pictures of the 3 part wedding from

The prewedding (sanchak)

The Wedding (nikah)

The Valima (the reception)

You guys think thats enough evidence?

I also have our house deed. Still in the process of opening a bank account.

Enough or there might be an RFE?

For the I-130 basic info is enough. I don't think you need anything else. Throw in a phone bill with her number highlighted or a few copies of your chats together if you want to. Always a good idea to have the petitioner write a timeline of the affidavit and sign it.

Sachinky, youve been a great help and thanks to everyone else as well.

This is what ive decided to do, i have alot of evidence and i hope (God willing) it will be more than enough. This is what my plan is

I have made an attorney appointment for March 8th to show her what i will have assembled.

What i will have assembled.

1) My i 130

2) G325a from me

3) passport photos of me

4) G325a of my wife

5) Passport photos of my wife

6) Bank statement in which both of our names are on. (hopefully, not sure)

7) Boarding pass copies

8) Pictures of my wedding with my mother Bringing me onto the stage

9) Pictures of the sanchak, and valima (pre wedding and post wedding reception)

10) Pictures of us all over india

11) A copy of my vonage phone bill.

12) a copy of my att bill (i added the magic jack # to my faves) and my magic jack registration.

13) Copy of my entire passport.

14) a affadavit of my coworker and my mom (mom was the ONLY ONE who accompanied me to india)

15) an affadavit from her best friend, and my brother in india (still a maybe on this)

16) A copy of my marriage certificate.

17) a copy of the house registry and the fact its under our name.

18) an appraisal of the house to include it as our asset. (maybe)

Anything im missing?

Im going to take this all to the attorney, any more advice would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, i wanted to ask, what weight do the affadavits hold when those people werent even present at the wedding? but are close friends/family members and were aware of my wedding. For ex. My father gave me permission to go and have the wedding without him because he had work, and my sister went to the engagement (i was in the states, engagement was in india) and didnt make it to the wedding. What weight does that hold?

Should i submit an essay?

My marriage is an arranged marriage, i dont know what else i need, but ive been talking to her for 4 months before that via email.

And the beneficiary's passport isnt needed?

You can use those affidavits from your father and sister. I had two from his parents who weren't present at the wedding but had met me before and knew about our engagement/wedding etc. We plan to have another ceremony in the U.S. once I return for his family and friends. I have about six affidavits for the interview from our common college friends (we both studied in New York). I have two from my family and two from wedding guests. This is for the interview, though. Better to use more from the USCs side/or by people who are USCs.

Yes, a copy of the beneficiary's passport is also needed. Number 6.

I would definitely write a "timeline/evolution of relationship/petitioner's affidavit" outlying some of the major points of your relationship and add it there. Sign it and date it.

Good luck. Don't stress too much about it. The I-130 is an easy form. The waiting is a killer though. So send it off as soon as you can.

Zeban? Did I read the house you both own is in India? If so, not sure you can use that as an asset. I think it would have to be in the States to be used, as such.

6-8 months for a CR-1 visa. Some manage it in 4-5.

Hi,

Thanks for the informatrion, can you help me out with some clarifications?

What is an "affadavit," is it a legal document that needs to be notarised by a solicitor or can it be just a letter?

I only know my husband's immediate family, he has friends in the US that know of the relationship but haven't met me in person.

In the UK I have my employer, my neighbours, my friends and family all of whom have met him, many of whom he's stayed with for a few days.

Will passports prove a relationship? Ie. lots of stamops fior different countries thyat prove we were both there at the same time. I have a cancelled passport, should I put that in the application along with copies of my current?

Will a letter from my landlord in the UK dated 8 months ago and giving him permission to live at my house be ok? He's not on the rent agreement but he did live there, for 6 months.

If he puts me on his bank account, should I transfer my savings to it? The pound is so weak rtight now I'll really lose rather a lot in conversion. :( My own UK bank REFUSED to put him on my account. I made a big scene about this and said I'd be withdrawing all my savings as a result. Is the US better about this sort of thing?

The K-3 visa is now officially obsolete, post 2/1.

You only need send in the I-130 with the appropriate forms and relationship evidence. Depending on the consulate and your personal case situation, overloading the petition is a good idea. For others, you can take the additional proofs for the interview.

Yea, the house we both own is in india, However, its worth is ALOT in india, just not here lol. so your right, it would make sense that it wont work. But thanks for answering that.

Also, I've seenm a lot of stuff here about including an I-129F, something about them being processed at the same time, is this obsolete now? It's all very confusing. Is it ONLY the I-130 that needs sending in at first, then the proofs of support sent in later?

I believe you send in most of the proofs with the I130, but again in the interview, at least thats what im doing.

Speaking of which, i have taken your advice and trying to overload my i130. However, i feel that i should just add, that one of my friends who is older than me, didnt submit anything but the i485? the i130 and stuff with only a marriage certificate and wedding photos, his wife came here just fine, so i dont know if i should be super worried, or super laxed lol. im taking the worried route, but things are pulling together, surely but slowly, i should file Godwilling within the first week or so of march.

I wonder...would a facebook page be proof? it says married to my wife on my facebook. thoughts?

I know im not to be worried about the financials, but i think thats the thing im stressing out about the most, i mean i make OVER the poverty limit, would i really be denied because of my financials? do they check your credit and stuff? I prefer not to get a joint sponsor, but really im freaking out. 2009-23k 2008 28k 2007 15k. But 2 years i have consistently held above the poverty rate so i should be approved right?

Your financials are fine. You are well over the minimum. A couple of recent pay stubs may be a good idea also.

You can add anything that you think shows a bonafide relationship/marriage between you and your wife.

I485 is submitted with the Adjustment of Status. Different thing.

There is a lot on Vj debating the merits of front loading/back loading the petition. You can read up on it. Where will you be interviewing? If it's Delhi, which is a difficult consulate, I'd recommend front-loading. If nothing, it assures you that the CO will get a look at the evidence before you enter the interview room.

For a CR-1, USCIS's job is to make sure:

The USC is, in fact, a USC.

You and your wife were free and able to get married when you did get married.

That you have a legal, valid marriage.

And that the petitioner doesn't fall under the Adam Walsh Act.

Beyond this, they don't care much. The rest of the evidence is evaluated at the embassy. My point is: it is up to you solely to submit a reasonable package with the I-130. It does not have to be a five inches long. Unless you have red flags that need to be addressed. Do you?

My marriage is an arranged marriage. thats not a red flag or anything, thats just why its confusing. But its not like we didnt know each other, we knew each other very well, we had been chatting for 2 months or so, i got engaged in september of 09. And in the pictures, my mom and sister and grandparents are at the engagement, i wasnt.

I also have a receipt of the wedding anniversary band i bought her.
