To all those who got their NOA2s, PLEASE RESPOND!

My I-130 and I-129F cases were "touched" for the 2nd time on Jan 27th 2010 (California Service Center), according to the USCIS case status website. The initial touch was after the 2 cases were "married" on Oct 27th 2009 (I-130 NOA1 date 10-13-09; I-129F NOA1 date 10-22-09). One of our VJers got his text/email NOA2 approval notice THE SAME DAY that they were updated on the case status website. So I'm sort of freaking out here as to why it is taking them so long to approve mine. So while I know that my cases are finally being looked at or got looked at (after 3 long months of sitting in a pile in Laguna Niguel), it has been over a week and a half. How long do FBI and security checks take???? Obviously I have no criminal records.

To those who have recently received their NOA2s, how long did it take you from getting the 2nd touch ie when they looked at your cases to receiving approval??!?! Please respond, as I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with my case. Thanks in advance!

There's no telling when your NOA2's will come after a touch. We got touched once, then twice in a row and then waited i think,5 more months... that was back in 08 though.

Good Luck and I hope it comes soon.

You know anytime they do ANYTHING with your file, it can be a touch. So, while they can be exciting when youre obsessing on the uscis site... they provide no insight into an approval date :(

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hi, I read your thoughts about your application you filed. I have the same problem regarding my application. My husband and I filed I130 last april 2009 and received the receipt number to access the track online. Since then we never heard any news about we filed so we decided to file I129 to be attached in I130.We filed I129 last dec 2009 and received the receipt number. Imagine how long I waited for any action regarding our application. Its ridiculous, indeed! Last Feb 2010, my husband received a call saying they need him for background check( fingerprints, etc).Till now no result yet.I'm freaking out here! How long it will take again for new result. It would be a year again? Oh no!! My husband and I had been apart for almost two years! I've been so much patient of waiting. But its too unfair why other people got their visa for just a month.anyways, just keep praying!

Wwow!!! that is excessively long! you need to make an infopass appointment immediately and talk to a USCIS officer right away. go to http://infopass.uscis.gov/

also why didnt you ever ask them to put a service request into your case??? nevertheless, you will get a lot more information with infopass. make that appt. i got my approval on march 16th and am now in the NVC stage. hopefully in a week or 2, i will get an interview date for my wife. I wish the best for you!

We all have been waiting longer as everbody and i m also still waiting it has been already 4 months and i did not get my NOA2 approval. Some people got it within 2 months some 3 and some still waiting like me

As i checked ur timeline you just started it and you better not to worry for now bec you have to wait at least 5 months thats USCIS goal to finish the process but sometimes it goes more i m not trying to make you worry but its real nobody can do a thing than waiting

Good luck
