Hello all,

Might be a silly question...but do celebrities like Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher need to apply for K1 visa's....or do they have different circumstance since they would be considered individuals of "exceptional talent"? Just curious...

There are Visa types that are for entertainers I believe. Not sure how it works when they buy a house in several countries and live there part of the year

I don't know but my bet is they do.

However in the US fame, money and who you know talks so they may enjoy freer access, less questions and restrictions and maybe a trip to front of the line making their process a little faster and less painful than ours.

O well at least we don't get mobbed at the in public or at the grocery store... a lot of advantages to being one of the "ordinary"! LOL!

They'll probably enter the country on work visas as people of exceptional talent, and then AOS if they marry a USC. But they, like everyone else, have to still line up on interview day for those work visas. There've been several celeb citings at the Embassy in London in the past.

There was a woman in my yoga class in Toronto who was an actor. She wasn't famous by any means, but she legitimately acted on stage and in tv ads. She moved to LA on a "unique talent" type visa. It only took her a few weeks to get her visa, while I was waiting for mine for months.
