India specific : Bangalore PCC experience

Hi All, Just want to post my wife's experience in getting her Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Bangalore Passport office (I'm applying for her IR-1/K3). It was actually relatively painless. She got a token from the online booking system and went there today before 9:30 AM. Office opened in time and she only had to wait around for 20 min or so befoire getting called. Her passport was issued at the end of November 2009 and so according to the Chennai embassy website, only need the local passport office to give her PCC clearance. She went to the counter and the officer took her passport, the 300 bucks she had to pay and basically told her that she would recieve it in the mail in 3 business days. We also wanted to enquire about fixing her father's name in the passport, as it was mixed up (middle name, last name, first name instead of first name, middle name, last name). The officer told her it was in the right order on their record screen and "In India, that's how we write it" and that everything was fine that it didnt need to be changed. I hope that explanation will fly and not raise any red flags with the DS-230 form, as in all other documents (like our marriage certificate) and our G325a forms, it is listed in the correct way - first name, middle name/initial, last name.

Anyway, the bigger hurdle here is the PCC and she was done in about an hour's time. I would rate Bangalore's passport office as very high service, as even when she went in to get it renewed and do the name change (after marriage), it was relatively painless (~ 2 hrs or so; yeah relatively painless compared to most INdian govt agencies!) and she got thte passport in the mail in like 2-3 days (she did tatkal service).

LOL... I was going to post that my Hubby got it done for pennies compared to that, but I wanted to confirm with him...
