Help needed,

My american fiance is sending the I-129F for me and for my 18 years old daughter. In part B question 13 we will mention all children I have (3) but only one will travel with me.

We just can't find where in this form we will specifically mention her name.

Thanks and have a good day!

You don't mention that on the I-129F. Complete all your children's names and when you get to the interview stage at the embassy, they'll take your K2 application for just your daughter at that time.

Make sure you have all the necessary documents for applying for a K2, including a letter of authorisation for permanent relocation in the US from her biological father.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

Hi!

Thanks for the answer..I was reading the following:

"Children Have Derivative Status

The child of a fiancé(e) may receive a derivative K-2 visa from his/her parent’s fiancé(e) petition. You, the American citizen petitioner, must make sure that you name the child in the I-129F petition".

So according to the above it makes it very confused.

Don't u think?

Hmmm, sorry but that's pretty straight forward to me. If they qualify for a K2 and you want them to have one, you MUST name them on the I-129F. Why are the other 2 not getting K2s?

It is not confusing at all. They can receive a visa from YOUR petition, that means ONE petition and it specifically states for the US CITIZEN to list their names on that petition. The I-129f petition has a space for listing names of children. What is confusing?

The I-129f specifically states to list ALL children. ALL children means ALL children. Your US citizen fiance, when he fills out the I-129f should list the names of ALL your children. the I-129f does NOT ask which children plan to travel with you, it asks the names of ALL children.

Hi Gary,

My two other kids are married and will not travel with me.

It was a bit confusing because I understood that on the I-129F he would have to mention the name of the child who will receive a K2 visa.

Now I realize that he has to mention all of my kids regardless of who will travel with me.

I realize I will have to mention that at the interview..right?

Actually you'll list the name(s) of any of the ALL children that you want to come with you or to follow within one year of your K-1 visa issuance on the DS-156K which you will send or bring to the interview.

Regards,

You will need to more than mention it at the interview. You will need to include separate forms for the K-2 derivative visa when you mail in your packet 3 forms. I was instructed that it's basically K-1 x 2 except the DS-156K which is only for the fiance(e). I'm guessing K-2 needs to appear for the interview as well since she's 18. I realize this delves into consulate specific info, so you need to look into what they want to see.
