thanks...THAT is the closest to the type of tattoo i want...but on my ankle, where apparently it will hurt like an S.O.B!!!!

I have 2 Fleur de Lis tattoos (born in Quebec) Fleur de Lis is everywhere here in New Orleans so that worked out well. The larger one I have on the back of my shoulder is tie-dye coloured. I wouldn't mind getting something similar in a Maple leaf shape. I'd either have to put it on my other shoulder or tramp stamp it.

A friend of mine drew me a tattoo with a Canadian maple leaf and a black sort of Celtic design behind it. It's been years since she drew it and i still cannot figure out where to put it! I have thought about also just waiting until I get my citizenship and getting a CAN and US flag beside each other.

I've thought about getting a small outline of a maple leaf on my shoulder or the top middle of my back. I'm not a big fan of tattoos, but something that has a lot of meaning and done tastefully would probably be really nice. I think if you're going to put something permanent on your body it should be something with meaning and something you'll be proud to have forever. I remember in high school so many girls went out and got weird designs and cartoon characters on their backs... It was cute at the time, but a weird black pattern of lines and swirls would get old really quick.

For me..I am proud to be Canadian..and if the time comes when I become a citizen of the US...I will still be Canadian..I want something to reflect that...

I don't want something big and inyour face....just small...and either on the back of my neck or on my ankle...

mydaghter suggested getting a barcode with made in canada on the bottom of my foot!! LMAO

I have two tattoos, both not seen by anyone but my husband. ;) One is a ladybug, the other a small maple leaf. The maple leaf, is in a very awkward area to photograph, so I just basically searched for one that's similar. It's about the size of a quarter. Mine is also outlined in navy blue. I got the first one on my 40th birthday, the other my 45th!

I got a few tats myself and yes my advise is if you like to get it on the ancle

I would waite till the weather is better ,

cose when I had mine done on the ancle it was fall ,

and with putting on socks and wearing long jeans since it was cold

the constant rubbing fabric over the fresh tat gave me an infection ,

unless you keep a bandaid over it till the first layer heals ,

I had a bandaid over it for a week when I first got it but guess it wasnt long enough ,

mine only hurt cose it was infected ,

usualy a tat doesnt hurt more then a sunburn ,

PS : I like the idea with the birth cert , lmao

since thats kinda big why not go for the real big deal ,

get a tat of a family tree and have little tiny flags (the size of the icones here :devil: ) beside each family member , lol
