Marriage Certificate Needed?

Just wondering if I need the actual marriage certificate, it is listed on my Packet 4...

I have my divorce certificate, my stamped judgment for name change...

I gave the marriage certificate to the judge.

I don't really want to apply for a marriage certificate I don't want to keep....

I have the original non valid one that was signed off by us and the witnesses...

Please let me know..thank you.

I could be wrong but I'm thinking the marriage certificate would be for the person you are married to now. If you're not married (ie. divorced) it doesn't make sense that they would request that.

I was never asked for my original marriage cert. I had the divorce papers. (Why have divorce papers if you weren't really married)

I did need my certificate for my current marriage.

DISCLAIMER - This was about 7 years ago at Montreal - things may have changed...but it doesn't seem to make sense that it would be needed.
