Last Minute Question for POE

Hey Guys,

I just got a call from Sean who is about to POE. He wants to know if his birth certificate is needed. I have his birth certificate here in Florida. I told him I didn't think it was required to POE but I'd ask.

If it is the best I can do is fax/scan it to him at this point . . .

They didnt ask for mine at all, just my packet and passport.

Yeah they really shouldn't need or ask for it Arabella. They don't really care about anything other than the passport, the sealed brown envelope, and sometimes what he's bringing with him.

I agree. I came in with my fiancee and we just gave the "sealed packet" and passport to the officer. Just make sure he knows not to get curious and open the packet from the consulate - thats a no-no! It's a real killer becuase we all want to open it to see whats inside

I was not asked for my birth certificate at PoE. The copy of your birth certificate from the I-129 and/or the consulate interview is probably inside the packet anyways. But don't open it to check!

UPDATE! Sean made it through the border at 4:23 Eastern. I don't know when he got there, but from when I last spoke to him I am guessing he was only there for 30-45 mins.

Yep. He and his dad are driving all the way to Florida. I expect them some time late tomorrow night or Wednesday morning.
