Fiance's Birth Certificate

My Russian fiance is currently having her birth certificate translated and notarized. The notary has an original stamp on the translated birth certificate. Can she send a copy of the notarized document or does it have to be the original document. Also, does she need to send a copy of the original birth certificate?

For the I-129F petition? Your timeline is not filled in. The foreign fiance's BC is not necessary for the initial I-129F filing (I did include a color photocopy front/back of my fiance's anyway). It is necessary for the interview. To the interview bring the originals & color copies (copy front and back of everything, even if it is blank).

Never send originals of anything. Bring originals of everything to interviews.

Bring originals to interview. No need to any copies for filing the I-129F. Her BC is not required. Read the Guides.

Only the petitioners BC for the I129F petition.

For the interview, bring the original, the notarized copy of the translated and copies of both!

Some consulates/embassies do not require the original BC to be translated. In VN we did not have to have the BC translated. Just brought the original and copies of her VN birth certificate (for example).
