Hello Yardies :) I hope everyone is doing well. I would like to know:

- How you guys presented your pictures at the visa interview

- How long did you wait after your case was completed to hear from the embassy

- How did you dress for the interview

-What are some of the questions that they asked

-If you know of some cases that were denied and reasons they were denied

Well I made a photo album with over 20 pictures. I don't think they have a preference. Mine didn't have the date stamp on them so I wrote the dates on the back, but the CO never took them out the album.

For the most part I think you know the day of your interview if you are approved or not, unless you have additional documents to bring, etc. They tell you to go to DHL counter to schedule delivery or pick up of your passport/Visa. So its really about tracking with DHL.

You can dress causal for the interview. I wore a nice sundress and sandals and my sweetie wore nice pants and button up shirt. Just look presentable and be neat and clean. You want to make a good impression.

As for questions, I did a review recently from my 1/13/10 interview for K-1. I would recommend you go to the Embassy reviews and see what various experiences were/are.

Best wishes on your journey!!!:dance::dance:

I put them in scrapbooks

We were way back in 2005 and it was not long at all then.

Casual dress

You can search for the interview questions. We talk about them all the time. It has been all over the place on what they have asked.

DRUGS USAGE at ANY time in their lives.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

we had everything in a folder, in sections. when he asked for pics i took out the envelope with them and gave them to him

it took about 2 weeks to get an interview date from nvc

casual

questions asked (trying to remember as much as possible):

- what is our relationship

- how long have we known each other

- how long have we been married

- do we have kids

- how many ppl attended our wedding

- asked to see pics, phone records, western union reciepts

can't remember anymore questions

i think the main reason ppl get denied at kgn embassy is for drug use. don't know of any other reason

I864 delivered November 2nd.....nvc logged it on November 5th

DS230 delivered November 6th.....nvc logged it on November 12th

Welcome Mrs. Z - Can you please fill in your timeline - it helps to keep track of how fast visas are processing (for those of us that watch the statistics, lol)

don't apply close to when they're processing work visas

causes a total slow down which is so frustrating

I tried filling out the time line but I am ignorant to this whole visa process. I only remember the date that we started. I got the I130 in my email on March 18, 2009 to sign, then the DS230 and now I was told that all the documents were sent to the NVC this month January 20, We are not doing it ourselves a lawyer is doing it for us and she doesn't really explain much, other than send papers for me to sign and ask for documents. Sorry if I couldn't be of more help. I also would like to know, what it means when the "case is completed" and how long after the case is completed, will I have to do the medical.

Hi Mrs. Z...here's what I can offer:

-I just had all of my pictures together in a ziploc bag...although the CO never asked to see them (it really is the luck of the draw)

-After our CR-1 case was complete I think I heard from them about 2 weeks later with an interview date (which was about a month and a half after our case was complete!)

-we dressed business casual (of course I saw plenty of people in there in jeans or whatever)

-They asked me: where did I stay when I came to Ja?

how did we meet?

(she took both of my passports and saw all my visits to ja)

-They asked my husband: where did I work?

where did I stay when I came to Ja?

how did we meet/when did we meet?

where did we get married? (i think)

-I know from first hand experience that they will deny you for ANY admission to marijuana usage in the past (doesn't matter how long ago) or the present...a failed drug test...if there has been some sort of visa fraud in the past...

I can tell you that my husband's interview was pretty smooth sailing. His was Oct '09. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey! I think folks embassy reviews are a good place to prepare!
