Interview at Chennai,India

Hi Sachinsky,

I thought that DS230 form, courier fee and medical report needs to be taken at the time of interview. I am still not sure, if I have to submit these docs to VFS or take it to the interview. If it has to submitted to VFS how many days prior to the interview do we need to submit?

You send the original to NVC for case completion, they will send it via DHL to the embassy. Prior to sending the package to NVC, you make two copies, one for the US citizen to hold onto for reference, one for the beneficiary to hang onto (and bring to the the interview, always bring your copies of all documentation to the interview).

How did you receive the interview appointment date? Was it sent to agent that you assigned- USC spouse?

If you signed up for email notification, the agent and the beneficiary should both recieve email notification. It is also likely that you will receive a physical copy by mail.

NVC said my case is completed on 01/19/2010. Does any body know how long it takes to schedule an interview at chennai, india. Please share your experiences.

Hi,

As soon as your DS 230 and other documents are recieved by NVC and they find no fault with the,they will drop you a mail about your interview date.Your interview date will be exactly one month later from the day you rceeived the letter about your case completion.

I beleive you must drop a mail to the NVC or probably call them to know whats your status?

hey i case completed today 25th june 2010,can u tell me when can i get interview date at mumbai embassy.it will be after august 15th or before.any sugeestion welcome.anybody from mumbai please share your timeline.

You're looking at an August date right now. Probably early August. The beneficiary and petitioner will both be notified of the interview date via email.

hey hi my case was completed on june 24th for ir1 visa category but i have not yet got interview date,i call nvc everyday they said mumbai embassy is busy so i was not put in august interview and they schedule interview every 2nd week of month but its 9th august today i called nvc they said they are scheduling interview for september but not sure wherethere they will put in in september interview,its been 7weeks my case is completed,did u recieve your interview letter please reply.
