I live in Florida and there are over 600000 Haitians here..This tragedy has affected my city on every level. My daughters friends at school are Haitians and they are our neighbors, our friends and co workers. We love them

How has the HAITI earthquake affected you personally? Have you donated money or mobilised help? Do you know someone impacted by the tragedy.. They are all around me.. We are glued to CNN.

I wonder if North Africa or mena is sending teams there. They have had several earthquakes in North Africa

I was talking about this to my mother yesterday. I would love to donate money if there was a reputable organization that I knew would get all of the money that was donated to the victims instead of them first taking their cut out of it.

Jordan has sent in security teams, so far.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

unicef guarantees 100 percent and the red cross has already fronted the money for tents without even receiving any money from the cell companies yet

text 90999 and 10 dollars goes directly from your cell company to the red cross text the word HAITI

text yele to 501501 and 5 dollars goes to Wyclef the regae stars from The FUGEES fund and he is dropping supplies directly into the slums

http://www.yele.org

The red cross in my opinion is the best and according to most Haitians I have met, they are supporting YELE because they have the most access to the slums because the FUGEES are from there

FED EX is sponsoring YELE as well as alot in the music industry...

I would hard pressed to donate to anyone who wasnt already established in Haiti..its easy to text either one

the red cross is always a good choice

Jordan started sending planes with supplies and medics Thursday

They had three members of the JAF peacekeepers die in the earthquake and about 23 more injured.

My heart goes out to the people of Haiti and their families abroad.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

(CNN) -- The top two civilian officials at the U.N. mission in Haiti were killed in Tuesday's earthquake, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon confirmed Saturday.

Special Representative Hedi Annabi and his deputy, Luiz Carlos da Costa, have died, Ban said in a written statement.

Acting U.N. Police Commissioner in Haiti Doug Coates also died, he said.

The headquarters of the U.N. mission in Haiti, a peacekeeping and police force established after the 2004 ouster of then-President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, collapsed during the quake.

Annabi and da Costa had been believed to be trapped under the rubble.

"In every sense of the word, they gave their lives for peace," Ban
