Was any family celebration, foodstuffs, etc ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Congratulations!

Not quite the same thing, but between the time of her interview and the swearing in ceremony last summer my wife took time to have a baby! The people at the USCIS office were really nice and offered to postpone the date for the oath (she was actually "due" on the day she had her interview) but she would hear nothing of it. Fortunately the baby decided he wanted to be part of the ceremony, too, and showed up a few days earlier. : )

BobandXiaomei-Congrats on your wife passing the interview and being a USC and thanks for sharing that experience here in VJ! Good luck with the wife's journey too as a USC and in getting her passport and getting a green card for her mom too.

Mavisgrind-Congrats on your wife being a USC and congrats on the baby too. Personally, if I were your wife, I would have demanded that they make me a citizen right then and there, and not have to wait any futher. Thanks goodness though, that it all worked out well in the end that she passed the interview and had the baby and then had the oath. Still, they shouldn't have scheduled the interview on the same day as the oath date..It doesn't seem right there...What if the baby would have been born that the office that day...scary....(though instant USC for all if that were to happen..just kidding!). By the way, if you dont mind me asking, how long was it between the interivew and the baby and the oath..Just curious...

Congratulations!

Actually I didn't go into the interview room with her. The agent got her and asked me to wait. According to my wife she was asked simple questions and answered them. Mostly, she says, they were laughing it up ... and at my expense I'm told :innocent: .

Don't be worried, just study the citizenship questions. Remember this is the interview they want you to pass!

Good Luck!
