I am getting so frustrated with my doctor's office. I need a refill for my progesterone. i didn't want them to use the same pharmacy because it was out of network. I also wanted to get it before the end of the month because our new insurance year starts in June and right now my out of pocket maximum is met so I am hoping the insurance will cover all of it.

So I researched and found a couple of pharmacies. The first one didn't work out because the fax wouldn't go through. The second didn't do the injectables. So I had to call a couple and I finally found one and it was on my doctor's office's computer so they could send the prescription electronically. they were supposed to send it yesterday. So all day today I was waiting for the pharmacy to call and ask for my info but I got no call. So I finally called the pharmacy and they said they didn't receive an order. GRRRR. But the lady did offer to call my doctor which I thought was nice. So now I am waiting again.

It bugged me that I had to do all the calling around. The office doesn't seem to concerned if something is covered by a patients insurance.. grrr

but it ticks me off because I paid about $150 with shipping for the last batch. and I only got $37 back from our insurance.. GRRR

so i'm still having a fight with my insurance company telling me my clinic / doctors there are out of network!!! i've received two different bills now and i still have a previous bill to pay. i mean seriously ####### good is insurance for i'f the kid is not even born yet but i'm getting 300$ a shot bills??!!!

AND i found out breast pumps are not covered. Only if there is a medical condition etc etc. no way i'm forking over money for those, as it is i started our registry and am going to have a nervous breakdown at how expensive stuff is here. :( we don't have alot of friends and i cannot expect my husbands family to pay for alot. and my family well..they are useless and broke to begin with, and i haven't really spoken to them since i moved.

now that we are getting closer to the halfway mark, i think i'm starting to freak out and am not sure we can even afford to have a baby. Not to mention I've had a fight with hubby 3 days in a row cuz he seems 100% disinterested ever since i started feeling better. i can't even get him to look at baby stuff let alone help me clean or anything anymore. all he seems to care about is that we should be having sex since i'm feeling better. :( my emotions are also very intense latey. if i get angry..well its really super i'm going to throw something at you angry, and if i get sad, its like the end of the world watefall tears. I feel so out of it its not even funny.

And my husband has to leave for a week for a work thing so i'm going to be home alone, which i really am not looking forward too :(

I have never been a major chocoholic but lately I have been craving chocolate. mmm, coconut M&M's

I am starting to gain weight now so I am trying to watch what I eat but it is hard with these silly cravings like chocolate and cheese puffs tongue.png

all i have to say is "peatnut butter M&M's rule". i ate half the bag my husband bought and it was a 42oz bag lol

Yeah I saw a list of things you are supposed to need for your first baby and it was slightly terrifying. We are just in a 1 bedroom apt, and have absolutely nothing in the way of baby items other than two clothing gifts we got this week and a baby book. Things I didn't even realize you'd need... thankfully we have good family support... but they aren't going to give us the big ticket items. Just knit clothes and babysit I think. I know that clothing won't be a huge issue since I know a few people I can borrow from plus I hear it's super cheap on craigslist or garage sales. There's things you can get by without using, like a changing table and just use a regular table or the floor... I never even thought about the fact we'd probably need a baby bathtub. As far as a stroller I'd like a nice one but will probably end up going garage sale shopping. The one thing we definitely need to buy new is a carseat - not taking chances on that thing. So... no crib, no play pen, but for the first few months at least the baby isn't self propelled and an old bassinet should be okay. I'm trying to rationalize to myself it's ok too tongue.png

Supposedly that is what you need for the first year...but I'd like to think some of it is optional!

I am lucky in the fact that I know we will get most of our big tickets items from our family..

Also my SIL is panning on inviting everyone she knows to the shower. I have a feeling we are going to end up with a lot of stuff.. which will be interesting because we only have a one bedroom place.. luckily we have a fair sized walk-in closet..

I am just trying to convince her that I don't want a matching crib set. I am not a matchey/matchey person.. As long as the colours are similar I am fine (I am going for sage, rose and chocolate brown)... I would rather that money be spent on something we really need..

as for baby clothes.. thrift stores are a good place to shop for those too. they are usually in good shape because they have only been worn a few times..

Baby showers...I am not really sure what is going to happen there. I don't think I will end up with one from the people I know in Canada..it's just too awkward to organize since none of them are down here and whatnot. The people I'm meeting here I've only known a few months so I'd feel weird asking them to throw me a baby shower, and as for my in-laws they don't really have a huge family. Well they do have family but they aren't close at all really, so I'm not sure if they will do something. There is a new church we are attending, but we are brand new and again I feel awkward about that. I may end up being surprised by one or the other of the groups, but I don't feel comfortable asking anyone for that. So we'll see!

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. My husband won't be getting employment medical insurance until October when it kicks in. I just found out I'm pregnant! I want to get it verified by a clinic, and I was thinking of using Planned Parenthood. Am I allowed to use their services? I guess I want to get confirmation first that I am pregnant and I will need to see a Dr. before my husband gets insurance. Is PP considered government assistance?

You can use PP and you can also check around your area for womens clinics. They are usually pay scale based and are not considered government assistance .

I didn't put ultrasound pictures on Facebook. I know I find those pictures coming up on Facebook kind of weird.

Congrats,Jens, on the baby on the way. I am not sure if PP is considered a "means tested" government assistance. I know that they do a sliding scale for payment. I hope you can find prenatal care as soon a possible.

Somehow I read what you wrote about Planned Parenthood and totally missed the part where you mentioned finding out you were pregnant. Congrats!!!

quite a few of the stores in the mall here had "baby sales" sears target walmart etc. some 30% off others clearance racks as well. I am waiting to find out if its a girl or boy before we buy any clothes.
