This is what it says right near the end of guide

For applicants living outside Canada and the United States

Once you have completed all the sections of your application, submit your application to the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate closest to your home.

If you are applying for a child who is residing outside Canada and the United States, the application and documents should be submitted to the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate closest to where your child resides.

Note: Applicants from the United States may apply directly or through a Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.

So to me what it is saying is that you can either send it in to the Sydney address or send it through a Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate.

Now to figure out if everyone used the In canada forms or if they actually called the nearest embassy to have forms sent to them.

I've been looking into this for a few days now. We just got Alexis's Birth certificate last week. If you check out this link it will help you find the embassy that is for your state. http://w01.international.gc.ca/cra-rce/index.aspx

It will bring you to another page then you can click their website to download the form/package. Well that is as far as I got I had to go by more printer paper but will be printing that off later today, not sure when I will file but at least it will be printed.

Edit to add: the link for the package is with the passport and emergencies off to the side for the one i'm dealing with was not easy to find.

I emailed the washington embassy maybe they can help, I have been to their site and found nothing about the certificate. Just passport stuff.

It worked ... been there before.. Problem is it says if your outside of canada to contact the nearest embassy. Are you just going to do it as if you are in canada and download the forms from below?

Thats the closest embassy to me that I am suppose to deal with.

Lets say Dallas is the closest click on the Dallas link then click on their email address or click on their website and then the contact/office hours and contact them at the consular email address.

Dallas got back to me and the Forms online are the right ones as long as you don't fill out the one for minors. The forms for minors are for filling inside of Canada. I really should of asked a few more questions about the required ID needed but I'm sure I will figure it all out when my brain works right.

Yeah I got the package today and it had all the same forms in it.. Did they tell you where to send it to?

Ya I send my package to Dallas, I'm just not sure on the ID for her it mentions something about to pieces of personal ID and one needs to be photo ID.

I just read some old threads and it looks like most people sent in a birth certificate and a us passport as ID for the baby.

That is what I thought we would have to do
