I didn't really look pregnant until about 7 months....I just looked fat....lol!! I only had a few comments on my belly and thankfully no one asked to touch it!! I only gained about 20 lbs. It pretty much came off right away, but I am still holding onto the last 5ish lbs :( I need to get rid of that and then get onto the extra I had before I got pregnant!!

I ate pretty much what I wanted when I was pregnant, and tried to make healthier choices, but I wasn't super strict about it. It amazes me how some women can gain 70 or more pounds in a pregnancy!

Oh it's easy to do! rofl.gif

I think I gained about 50 with each of mine; I was not heavy to begin with but I sure ended up that way at 9 months. I obviously had an issue with portion control! Luckily I had no issues during the pregnancy, my first was 8 lbs 7 oz and the second 9 lbs 9oz at delivery! The weight fell off except about 5 pounds I still have 20 years later. laughing.gif

I decided today that I do not want to have a OB rotation type Doctor. I want a private practice. So I called around and found one YAY. I have to go sign paperwork tomorrow and then I pray they can give me an appt asap :)

I was 110 lbs when I had my 1st 2nd and 118 120 with the younger two, I gained 50- 60 lbs each time. The doctor and nurses could never figure out where I was putting it cause I never did look pregnant. I even had the a nurse question whether I was actually in labour with number 3 and I almost lost it on her. She didn't believe it was my due date either, so glad I didn't have to deal with her.

Canadiandggal- I had a single practice OBGYN at first but thought he was incompetent, so I checked out this doctor and so far love him, and the staff I have no idea if they rotate they never said but I'm sure they will get to that at some point.

I loved my old OB in Canada but ones like him are a dying breed, most now only have certain times they actually go to the hospital and you just get the doctor on call, unless you do a scheduled delivery and that is when all the stuff I want to avoid happens.

I really don't care cause if this baby is anything like the others I just need them to catch her. I almost had 2 at home before, I still am tempted to try a home birth but since my kids are a bit older I figure they would be weirded out too much. But hey if it happens that way they can go for a walk.

I am getting ready for my trip to Canada with Emma. We leave tomorrow. I had read a lot of good things about the Moby wrap so about a month ago I went out and bought one to use thinking that it would be good for in the airport and in the plane. I decided that maybe I should do a practice run with it today (ya I procrastinate...a lot!!), and it is AMAZING! I put her in it, went and put a load of laundry in the dryer at the laundry center, walked down to the apartment office to put more money on the laundry card, and now she is sleeping soundly all snuggled up to me! I think from now on I am going to use it when I shop rather than the car seat/stroller combo. She hates the car seat and usually has a meltdown when I am about halfway done my shopping. I have to go to H&R block this afternoon to get our taxes done (I found a location that has a specialist that deals with foreign income) so we will see how that goes.

So far, I would suggest to invest in one of these. There are all kinds of different 'holds' that you can do. And it is basically a long piece of fabric, so it doesn't matter what body type you have...it can be wrapped to fit someone who is very petite or to fit a larger daddy! Simon has tried it and it fit him with no problems. I find it more comfy that the Chicco carrier that we have, and I like that you can pull over part of the wrap to support her head (so you don't have to worry when bending over). I have read that a lot of people use them when they are doing housework as well. I think I paid about $40 at babies r us so I think it is a good investment.

I going to try taking the dogs out for a walk with her in it. It has been a pain in the a$$ walking 2 dogs with a stroller, so I think this is going to be much easier.

Enjoy your trip. It will be so nice for you and Emma. I'm glad you stopped procrastinating and tried it out. I had one of those infant carrier things when I had my first but barely used it. It was just not practical was hard to bend to pick things up and move around the house for things. Seeing how it works well for you maybe it would be worth trying after all its been almost 20yrs since I tried the other thing.

I will add that to my registry. I wasn't going to make one but ppl keep asking about our registry so I might as well.

My vent about the hospital I was at today.... I had my ultrasound today. It was awesome to see the Heartbeat but I also just finished writing a long letter to the hospital. My husband took off today strictly to be there for me for comfort but most of all to see this first ultrasound.I was called to go to the room and I asked the lady If my husband could come back and she said No as she was doing an internal then told me he could after when she did the tummy one. After the internal she told me I could get dressed again and then told me I was good to go. Not only that but she when I asked how far along I was she told me that when I saw my doctor she would be able to tell me.

It was a long drive home with my extremely angry husband who feels he has been robbed of a part of this journey.

I would be pi$$ed as well. You have the right to have your husband in during and internal if you so choose. My husband came to pretty much all of my appointments, and was there when they did internal U/S's and regular internal exams. It is your choice as a patient who you want to have in the room with you....it is your privacy.

I completely agree with Colleens, my husband was in the room when I had my first one and I had to have it done internal and the tech didn't make him leave for it.

Well my belly finally popped, I'm 27weeks 3 days now, depending on how the weeks are calculated I'm almost in my 3 trimester or just entering it on Sunday. I can't believe how fast it is going, I start going to the Dr's every two weeks. This upcoming appointment is on Tuesday I will also do my sugar test, blah I hate needles so I am already getting myself set up for it. Hope I past I hate the idea of having to do the 3h one.

So how are the mommies to be, and the mommies and little ones doing?

I didn't like the glucose test. Needles don't bother me, but that stuff they make you drink is pretty nasty. It seems like your pregnancy is flying by!!

We are doing well. Emma is getting so big, she gained over 2 pounds in the last month! She has regressed in her sleeping a bit...she was doing about 10 hrs straight at night, but since we have been back from Canada, she has been only doing about 8, so that means getting up at 4 :( She used to nurse and go staight back to sleep, but not she seems to be pretty alert after eating, so it can take me over an hour to get her back to sleep. And I am still trying to get us settled into the new place (get everything unpacked etc) so I am pretty exhausted by the end of the day.

The weather here the past few days had been pretty nice....mid to upper 70's so we have been getting out for some strolls, so that has been nice. The fresh air can help to get you going again when you are tired!

I got to play soccer for the first time in a year on Sunday....I felt like a cement block trying to run up and down the pitch. It was kind of depressing to have a body that can't do what your brain wants anymore!! I have to get back to the gym BIG TIME!

I think they reccomend the 3D to be done between 28 and 32 weeks. Too soon and they look pretty freaky looking and too late they get too big and cramped and you don't see as much. I had mine done at 28 weeks, and I think if I were to do it again I would wait until 30 weeks. I loved having it done. They gave me a 3D pic at my 36 week appt and it is AMAZING how much she looked like that pic irl

Well today is my GD test, I hope I pass it I do not want to go through the 3 hr test. I have been only drinking water rather then my usual kool-aid so I'm not swimming in sugar already. This is also my first appointment for the 3rd trimester. I can't believe how fast things are going.

And too top things off we picked up a new puppy. She is a miniature dapple dachshund, she is 11 weeks old.
