K-4 Checklist for the I-130 application

I am ready to send out the packet for my wife but I am not sure if I need more for my step-daughter. Will someone give me a quick list so I can be sure I haven't forgot something?

Read the I-130 instructions - it's quite clear and simple, especially in the case of a stepchild.

If you are filing the I-130 for your step-daughter then it is not the K-4....that comes with filing the I-129f for your spouse(k-3) and the step-daughter is listed on that petition and becomes eligable for a K-4.

If you are filing an I-130 for your step daughter you need same documentation for yourself to show you are a US citizen...BC or passport...for your step-daughter, you will need a copy of your marraige certificate showing you are married to her parent, copy of any applicable divorce decrees or annulments. Though not required we enclosed a copy of my wifes bc and step-daughters bc. We also enclosed photos of the three of us together as further proof of relationship.

A K4 needs an I-130 petition, sooner or later. Nothing wrong with sooner.

Of course the k-4 needs an I-130 filed sooner or later, and no there is nothing wrong with sooner, as far as i'm concerned sooner is better than later. I was merely pointing out that the I-130 petition is not the k-4 as robee had written.

He simply let us know that the girl is a K4 and now he's submitting an I-130 for her and has some questions about what to submit along with the I-130.

Yodrak...again yes he does...the title says just that...."K-4 checklist FOR the I-130"...i'm actually surprised you didn't point that out first. Further the girl is not a K-4 under I-130...its not until he applies for(if at all) the I-129f...which some people choose not to do. I don't understand why you are choosing to make a big deal out this. I was merely pointing out the difference in petitions to Robee as some people get confused, as you well know from your time on VJ. I was not trying to spur some ridiculous debate with you.
