Change of Address

Hi there,

My partner and I are preparing to file for the K-1 Visa in the next month or so. I recently moved, and my passport and drivers license has listed my old address. I am going to change the address on my drivers license this week, but as far as my passport indicating an old address, when we file for the K-1 Visa should I just put my new address on all the forms? I am worried that it may present a problem that I have a different address on my passport.

Thanks in advance.

-M.

PS. This site has been extremely helpful. There are a lot of emotions and thoughts that go along with this entire process, and I'm at the very beginning stage.. I know it's going to be extensive and I'm glad that there is a support network such as VJ to help others like myself get through the process.

Well, I think I have found the answer on my own. According to Passport Canada I can just cross out my old address and write my new address in the passport. So, I assume that when we file the K-1 documents there shouldn't be any discrepancies with my new address.

Any other advice would be great, and if not, this thread can be closed and deleted!

Thanks!!

No worries,

File all paperwork (I-129F, G325A, etc) with your new and correct address. Your passport addess being different will not cause any problems in your petition (although if you are US Citizen the address is not listed on the passport).

If you should happen to move again during the I-129F process there is an area on the USCIS website to submit an address change.
