We havn't received NOV2 hard copy yet.But we like to plan next step for interview.

Could you tell us how to trace our case status from now? How to know when NVC

We are very thankful V.J for helping us passed such a waiting time. (F)

You will be able to find out if the nvc has received it by calling the nvc number and entering in your receipt number for your case. It will say there is no record of this case until the nvc actually receives and enters it, you can also talk to the operators there to find out if the automated recording doesnt say.

As for tracking it after it leaves nvc there is no tracking for it, after that all you can do is contact the embassy by email with all your details and ask them if and when they received your case.

Congrats on the first approval and much luck in the rest of your process

So no any website to track.

We will call NVC after we get our receipt number in NOV2 hard copy. Then I can contact Consulate by e-mail with NOA2.

We havn't received NOA2 hard copy yet.I suppose we will get it with 5 or more days.

Good luck for you. :D

The NVC uses DHL to ship packages to the embassies.

Up until Dec. 31, 2009, I was able to use the following format

EXP 31 DEC 2009A

in the track by reference area of the dhl.com website to see what packages were sent to which embassies. You have no way of knowing if your package is actually in the shipment (the NVC just tells you what day it was shipped out on).

I haven't been successful in seeing if there are any packages that have left the NVC in January.

I have been using the format

EXP 07 JAN 2010A

Anybody that is good at the dhl.com website tracking know what should be used for this new year? Did they change the letter at the end of the list? Did I abbreviate the month correctly? I just want to keep up with how many pounds have been sent to the Montreal consulate each day. Dec. 31 had a 9 pound package sent. But since then it has shown no shipments matching the reference format I have been using.

This is incorrect. For a K1 visa (which the OP filed), they DO NOT enter the case number into the automated system.

You HAVE to talk to a live operator to find out your case status.

NVC phone number is 603-334-0700, press 1 for english, press 5 to speak to an operator. You'll need your WAC number, and birthdates of the petitioner and beneficiary. The good news is they have a live operator available from 7:30 a.m. to 12 midnight M-F eastern standard time, and they are very helpful and friendly.

I'd wait 3-4 business days after receiving your NOA2 approval email for the NVC to receive it and enter it in their system.

Congratulations on your approval!

Has anyone else tried using the DHL reference tracking system yet in 2010? I would be interested to know what has changed from the format that was used in 2009 which was EXP 31 DEC 2009A

to whatever is used this year. Any body else had luck? I would think the NVC has sent out packages since Dec. 31st.
