Good question. I guess some people are sadists and derive some kind of pleasure out of hearing others suffer. And then there is the media that will latch onto anything that will help them with their ratings. Anything having to do with a celebrity death makes it onto entertainment tonight pretty darn fast... Its messed up.

Yeah - maybe the real question is, why do people post them on youtube and why do they play them on the news?

It's not as simple as submitting paperwork and you are given the footage. There is a review process to determine whether the footage has a public value. The news outlets play it on the air because that is the nature of our media now, they go for the sensational headlines.

Well I know that  (I have a TV)

I should have just said - I think it is in very poor taste for news media to play 911 tapes and I think it is in very poor taste for people to post 911 tapes on youtube.

It depends--for the Toyota recall, it was to cause public awareness and outcry which prompted Toyota to recall their vehicle. In this case, it was a good thing.

For some, it's for entertainment and public ostracism. I've heard some pathetic 911 calls---McD's customer calling 911 because she couldn't get a refund on a burger she ate and didn't like; a lonely guy who called 911 to engage in phone sex with the operator, etc.

Aside from those two reasons, I don't really care to hear the serious ones unless I'm in a jury.

I am totally stressed about it, lemme tell you. I don't know if I can pee in that cup! I better practice.

:hehe:

What type of job are you getting?

It's a 3 month contract with the courthouse doing paperwork stuff. Nothing glamorous but it is a job.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

Wooo, Minnew! So exciting! :D

Thanks Mal!

Good luck on your drug test!

I just had a flashback to the nightmare of a job the home health service place I worked at. I worked in the office doing scheduling but also drug testing. Ugh... All of the "riggers" that would come in for their drug tests.... Ugh....then some of them would try to score a date at the same time...

I HATED that job, the boss was a nightmare I only did it for month before I got my gov job @ at youth facility, can't say I love the crazy hours but loved the people, both co workers and youth.
