My husband informed me that he is going to iron his work shirts today. I usually do the ironing but bec of the random blizzard last night, we ended up at the in-laws and I hadnt caught up with all the chores until now. And now Im about to make dinner.

So husband is going to do his own ironing! He must really dread it because in putting off the ironing, hes done 2 loads of laundry, re-filed the filing cabinet, eaten a BIG snack, fixed the stairs and shoveled all the snow off our front door/porch.

I find that ironing 5 work shirts will take a quarter of the time than doing any of those... Poor baby.

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Or they may have taken their chances and hoped no one would check. lol

I'm pretty sure you're right!

The dishwasher is brand new, never been used. We opened it and the instruction manual was taped to the inside still. So someone bought it to help sell the kitchen and just threw it into the old dishwasher hole. Either they were to lazy to install it or they just forgot. The inspector looked around inside and said all the proper hookups were there, they just didn't bother putting it all together. Just a stupid thing they really should be willing to fix!

I think the sellers actually knew the pipes for the bathroom were leaking. The entire house was renovated in the last 2 years except the bathroom, probably because they realized it would be a huge project. Our Realtor suggested that maybe the sellers counter offered for $1,500 more because we might find an issue in the bathroom. To me that indicates they knew there was an issue but were hoping our inspector sucked and didn't notice. The bathroom is the one part of the house we don't like, so we we're planning on redoing it anyways, but I'd rather not real with the leaking. The compromise is they fix the leak and the part of the sub floor it ruined and we'll fix the rest of the bathroom and its ugliness. Seems fair to me, so hopefully they bite. If they don't want to fix it then we'll need to lower the price or no dice.

The other issues were all pretty minor. The back of the house needs gutters, furnace needs cleaning, attic needs some more insulation... A bunch of things we can bother with later. The inspector said it was in really good shape for a house its age- foundation is solid, roof is good, it was recently rewired, so that's encouraging. Hopefully the sellers decide to cooperate.

We already have 100 projects for our federal tax credit!

Ok so I just had my first real "I miss home" moment.

My best friend had her baby on Thursday, beautiful baby girl. My friend's mom has been posting videos on facebook of little Laura every day since she was born.

Well it just hit me, that my friend is taking her kids to Sudbury next week and I won't be there to meet the baby and see my friend n stuff.

It's so unfair that I can't go back to Canada right now :(.

awwwww (((((((((((hugs)))))))) Peachy. I hate those "miss home" moments. For me they sneak up on me, and I become distant. Then I feel like I've made the wrong decision, and start resenting everything. Today for instance, back home, my sisters did the Walk for Memories for Alzheimers Awareness. ( We lost our mom in 2008 to it) I did the walk last year, but I really wished I was home this year with my sisters. Poor Tim. I'm sure he was wondering what he did. I haven't been very joyful for about a week, then it hit me today.

Yeeesh...can't wait for this part of the roller coaster of emotions to stop!

:o You're right, I can't see it. Upon cruising around to other threads, it seems like other people don't have one either, but I don't know if it's because it's missing as well, or if they didn't have one. Have you checked on your profile? Maybe there was changes made to VJ and for some reason yours is now missing?

Don't tell Peachey, but I'd trade her any chore to avoid ironing. It's not that I can't, it's that I detest doing it.

That and I always burn some random body part. :innocent:

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

Awwwwww. :( Hugs to all the missing-home people. (F) I certainly know what that feels like. You'll be happy to know that you adjust to the point where it no longer feels like a knife being stabbed in your heart and then twisted. It becomes more of a "poke". LOL

Good morning everyone. :) I suppose I have lots and lots and lots to do. I have no motivation, though, because I don't want to go.

I find that ironing 5 work shirts will take a quarter of the time than doing any of those... Poor baby.

Awwwww. I do the same thing when I'm faced with a chore I don't want to do. I'll find all kinds of other things to do first. LOL. But I've got the ironing one licked. All my husband's shirts go to the drycleaner. They do a very nice job. :)

The other issues were all pretty minor. The back of the house needs gutters, furnace needs cleaning, attic needs some more insulation... A bunch of things we can bother with later. Sounds like you got a great house, Huggles! The sellers would be crazy not to work with you. When's the closing date?

Yay, I found it! For some reason the photo I had as my "avatar" was deleted. So I searched for another OBX photo and now I'm feeling better. :D

I think it was probably lost in the upgrade. When I first logged on I thought there was something wrong with my machine. LOL
