To be honest..i dont know how they survived over 3 years without seeing each other. :( I remember at one point sara was talkinga bout how she got a mail from Hilary Clinton..i thought for sure at that point they would get the visa.but after her interview in November they were put into AP, and i guess the waiting was almsot killing her. IIRC she had some medical conditions which would not allow her to fly either. So very very sad. People who try and do things the correct way and get punished, like this..it just is so awful.

Good morning. Had a great meeting yesterday with the Board. I guess I'm part of this committee now. Hoping for good things for our volunteers, if I can help in that respect. Enjoy your day!

I decided to make a doctor's appointment but there first available appointment is next Tuesday... the lady did mention that they have a urgent care clinic but I booked the appointment.. but now I am wondering if I can just drop in there ... I want my husband to go with me because am little scared so I was thinking of going in on Friday or Saturday...

thats my only fear about medical in the usa. here i'm so used to just going to a clinic walkin and seeing someone, not worrying about the cost or having to pay for a referral etc., then going to have my prescription filled and paying only 10% cuz the rest is covered by my plan. Oy.

I hope you feel better soon Marilyn, and i do hope its nothing serious.

I am not worried about the cost or anything.. we have pretty good insurance.. I am just scared of going to doctors... even back in Canada..maybe a better word would be that I get nervous about going to doctors...

it doesn't help that I have looked up my symptoms online and I have seen the possibilities...

but I think it is just stress, lack of proper sleep and not eating well.. I think it just all finally caught up with me...

Thats prob the worst thing one can do---look up ones symptoms on the internet!! I believe many of those quick clinics take insurance--just call them up and check it out, as well cal ur insurance provider and see what the charge should be. 1 downside of going to a quick clinic is that they wont have ur medical history, but just be honest and tell them, so they have the full picture!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

What??? Is this the Sara that waited for over 2 years for her I-130 to be approved? If so, that is sad, sad news.

Sad news regardless but if its that particular poster -- heartbreaking.
