oh there was something funny I wanted to mention about my hubby's stolen car.. when we went to pick it up we were looking through to see what they took when I noticed a bag of McDonalds filled with empty burger wrappers sitting in the back... lol so those idiots took the time to go to MCD's with the car...

When they stole my truck here (a few years ago) it was found about a km away in a tim horton's parking lot. Thieves have to eat too!

Hey huggles, that's great news, it really is nice that you can focus more on making it the way you like rather than 'repairs'!!

Oh wow - I miss a good snow storm. As long as I can watch it from the comfort of my couch while snuggled in a blanket. :)

It hasn't hit yet. But we got a notice from the rental office about snow removal and it mentions that this storm could cause a state of emergency and then at the end it finishes with... and I quote: "Good luck, stay warm AND LET'S PRAY THE SNOW MOVES AWAY FROM US!!!!"

I just imagine the person writing yelling, pleading with nature...

Peeples! Vancouver needs more snow! We're in jeopardy of not having enough for the snowboarding and freestyle skiing competition in the Olympics.

wow...after all that planning and everything. I was told by friends back home on the Island it was a record year for a mild winter. I hope some snow comes for those mountains!

My husband's 10-year green card was just approved! Holy #######; that was fast!

Yay!!! :)

I have news about our house! After the inspection last weekend we decided to ask the seller to do a few things. The big thing was fixing the plumbing in the bathroom, but we asked for a bunch of little things too. Our Realtor said it was worth asking, because you never know if they're going to do it. So we asked them to put gutters on the back of the house (there weren't any...), move the dryer vent, fix some paint chips in the back, fix a couple broken tiles in the bathroom, fix the bathroom taps (the hot is cold and the cold is hot), fix the outdoor outlets in the front of the house that don't seem to work, hookup the dishwasher (it was just sitting in the hole), clean and service the furnace and replace the vent on the roof. I figured we'd be lucky to get them two a couple of those things... but they came back to us today and agreed to do it all!! How lucky is that?! :D I feel pretty relieved we aren't going to move in and need to go to work on all these issues. Now we can move in and just fix the little cosmetic things we don't like when we want to do it.

That's great! Glad they were able to do all that. My sister had to do LOTS of work after she moved into her house. But I think she got it quite cheap.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Do you guys remember all that drama with our events planner and her son-in-law who married her daughter? All that immigration stuff.

Well apparently she had to go down and they grilled HER for 3 hours... is that even normal to grill the mother??

I really do think they've been caught.

They're doing a lot of investigating.

Sprailenes-Is this the case with the co-worker who "planned/had intention" for their "big wedding" beforehand and then illegally MISUSED the Visitor to AOS immigration route?

Yup...If that is the case....THEY ARE COMMITING IMMIGRATION FRAUD!

Seriously..People like this should be deported.....

Lol..I guess the USCIS is smarter than we think they are...

Grilling for 3 hours..Oh yeah....The truth will come out....No matter who it comes from (lol..even better to get the truth from a 'third party' too....)

Hmm...It looks like it's going to be deportation hearings/immigration court next....

More office gossip for you to look forward too! Oh I can hear the "I told you so!" in your office!

Lol...and more stories for us to read about here on VJ! Keep us updated and entertained about this...Should be interesting!

Everyone-Sending some snow and cold weather your way.......(it's freezing and snowing here!)......
