I have couple of PCC related question.

1> If you include local PCC with DS-230 with a note that you will present Passport office PCC at the time of Interview, does it work?

Question for persons with local experience.

2> What documents do they need at passport office? Do they have to have Original local PCC or some kind of True copy works?

Because if <1> is true, and my spouse sends me original local PCC to save time, I don't know how to get Passport office PCC other than using photocopy!!!

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and opinions.

Yes that will work, that is what I did

Question for persons with local experience.

Because if <1> is true, and my spouse sends me original local PCC to save time, I don't know how to get Passport office PCC other than using photocopy!!!

My wife sent me a color copy of the local PCC and took original and a true copy to the passport office. They took the true copy and once I got the Passport PCC she submitted the Original Local PCC and Original Passport PCC to the VFS office when it was time. NVC accepts photocopy of local PCC, just send a color copy because they entered it as original in their system when they got it. But we still submitted the original to VFS.

You will need to take marriage certificate, original birth certificate, passport pcc form (you can get this there as well), passport, passport photocopy of biographical pages. I believe thats it.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and opinions.

Thanks for your reply. It will help a lot.

One more question about NVC process. I have seen a phrase "Receive Instruction package" after paying IV bill.

Is there anything you receive in email/mail? or You just see Paid on the website and Document coversheet?

I submitted PCC that i received from PASSPORT OFFICE and did not submit the LOCAL PCC and got approved. I think atleast one of them will work. In case if they need the Passport PCC they will ask you to submit at the time of Interview(based on what i read on this forum). So submitting one PCC should work either from local PCC or Passport PCC.

You dont need any documents other than Passport, photos and the application that passport office provides you and a nominal fee. My parents applied and received Passport PCC within a week. You have to submit Original passport to the passport office and they will stamp on the passport and also send you a PCC letter within a week through courier.

Hope this helps...Good Luck...Thanks, Raj

They are asking for NVC checklist at Passport office. Very strange. But everybody who came to passport office new about it. Fortunately, my wife was able to print at nearby cafe and it worked out. (She went to Passport office on 01/22/10).

Raj, based on your signature, I am also in similar boat. I received checklist for submitting DS-230 on 1/21/10 on the same day they received my package via USPS. I hope everything works out.

Thanks for your reply.
