Hi all,

Does any one have an e-mail address for the embassy in Kiev? I need to ask them about how many police certificates are needed from Vietnam. A cert from each district lived in in Vietnam or just from the last district lived in. All help will be appreciated.

I think better is to call them. You will get answer quicker and can ask more interested questions.

Consulate direct line in Kiev 011-38-044-490-44-45

Immigrant visa section direct line 011-38-044-490-44-22

K-1s are NON-immigrant visas but are handled by the immigrant visa section of the consulate in Kiev. Be very carfeul with what people tell you there, I have received incorrect information several times from them. If they make a mistake, it is YOUR problem. We were specifically told, in writing, from the consulate that our oldest son did not need a Russian police certificate as he was "only a student and not a resident" of Russia. WRONG. I called again because some other things they told me didn't just seem right. I talked to the section supervisor and guess what? He needed a Russian police certificate! Had we gone to the interview without it, his visa would not have been issued NO MATTER what their email said. If you call, ask to speak to a supervisor.

You will be required to show she has no criminal record in Viet Nam, the entire country of Viet Nam. If VietNam does not have a centralized system of record keeping (as Ukraine does) then you would need a certificate from each place she has lived. It really isn't a call made by Kiev, it is a matter of how that country, Viet Nam, maintains it's records.

Alla does lots of translations and in Ukraine if you mention all Oblasti a person has lived in the the certificate will clear them for all Oblasti, specifically listing each one. We see olts of Ukrainian police certificates with several Oblasti listed. If Viet Nam will do the same you only need one certificate.

VERMONT! I Reject Your Reality...and Substitute My Own!
