I received a letter a couple weeks ago from the Vermont Service Center reminding me to file a joint petition to remove conditions on residency. I've always been told by lawyers as well as what I've read the exact opposite. Does everybody receive this letter?

7/15/2007 AOS/EAD/I-130 arrived in Chicago

7/23/2007 NOA1 for AOS/EAD/I-130

7/25/2007 AOS/EAD/I-130 TOUCHED

8/15/2007 RFE Birth Certificate

8/24/2007 RFE Sent

8/27/2007 Biometrics Scheduled for 9/19/2007

Neither myself (original K-1 visa) nor my daughter (original K-2 visa) got letters reminding us to remove conditions, but that was several years ago. I have been hearing more and more people say that they received a letter lately, so it must be a new trend.

I did not get a reminder letter, (yet.) :clock:

(More than asked, and not necessarily for the OP, follows:)

Nor, I would advise, should anyone risk their status waiting for a reminder letter. :bonk:

Even if they were diligent and mailed everyone reminder letters without fail, there is no guaranty that it will be delivered. Mark your calendars, learn, and pay attention to your process !

I got the reminder letter ( they send it to my old adresse but postoffice forward it to my new )

I got mine. Some people get it and some don't, but they clearly tell you that they are not required to do so......

I didn't get mine, but I moved twice since becoming a permanent resident.

I read few cases here that the letter arrived at an older address, even though they had filed the "change of address" on time and much earlier. But even then they still mailed the reminder to an older address. I wonder if they indeed mailed a letter to me, but it went to one of the older addresses...

My husband received one at our old address even though we had changed our address with USCIS (his green card came to the new address). I would not count on a reminder. Too much at stake.

I'm the USC.

11/05/2007........Conditional permanent residency effective date.

01/10/2008........Two-year green card in hand.

08/08/2009........Our son was born <3

08/08/2009........Filed for removal of conditions.

12/16/2009........ROC was approved.

11/05/2010........Eligible for Naturalization.

03/01/2011........Separated.

11/05/2012........Eligible for Naturalization.

Same here - moved once but I was lucky that USPS was still forwarding my mail!
