Congrats to everyone approved by the way. I am deeply jealous of all of you... yes.. I admit it...

I am equally jealous of people supported by the Vermont Service Center however.

Honestly, HECK NO! There seems to be no rhyme, rhythm, rational, or reason for the random order of CSC approvals that have been affected by the IMBRA comliance. Check it out!

Are they supposed to process these based on the NOA1 receipt date? If so they are not doing it.

This is the million dollar question. If someone can get a senator or congressman to explain what the hell is going on at CSC, we would all appreciate it. I cannot get a return call from my senator's office. I expect my approval to come at the end up August - a full FIVE months after I sent in the damn thing.

I must say, it would certainly be nice if an explanation would be given. Its the least we deserve!

Noone expects them to actually ammend the process based on OUR logic, but for God's sake, we should make sure they explain what has happened if for no other reason than to protect future applicants.

We know USCIS will never acknowledge it. They'll sweep any record of the mess under the carpet. I believe it is our Senator's elected responsibility to find out, and report back.

The simple answer on how it is decided, see below. I am hoping that we all get approved quickly, the order is not as important as a fast and complete backlog clearance!!! Once again, the recalls are getting screwed on this deal. I really feel for them.

Anyway, here is the answer:

I spoke to my state representative's office today and they said that the NOA1 date at this point is insignificant until the IMBRA mess is over. If you are one of the lucky ones to have your petition approved before someone else, consider yourself fortunate. The backlog is so enormous at this point I assume they are just processing the cases indiscriminately until they can get things back to "normal". LOL

What signifies the 'end' of the backlog?...when they reach petitions with the revised I-129F form?????

Thats reallllllllllly f***ed up for recalls and early NOA1's if they arent going in any order!

How could they think the NOA1 date was insignificant if they literally had MONTHS of petitions to catch up on? Geez...spend a week organizing rather than 'X' number of weeks screwing people over!!!

I realize I'm just ranting the same sentiments we all have (minus perhaps the lucky ones)...but what else to do to fill the day!? :crying:

The end of the backlog probably means completing all of the petitions that required an IMBRA RFE. In any case, it does not appear that the backlog will be solved any time soon. In the USCIS universe, backlog is just par for the course. Of course if all of this specualtion is valid, that could mean that the processing times estimates the USCIS offers on it's web pages are useless now for individuals that were affected by IMBRA.

DavidandEli,

Yes, petitions are supposed to go into processing based on Receipt Date.

No, petitions are not supposed to be approved based on Receipt Date.

Once in processing, any number of things can happen to affect how long the processing of any particular petition will take. IMBRA being a biggie the likes of which has probably never been seen before.
