""Thank you for your message. According to our records, Mr. A completed the submission of his documents and provided all requested information. However, his application was tentatively approved for issuance pending the result of administrative processing. We will contact him when processing is complete. Unfortunately we are unable to estimate when it will be done. While we cannot predict how long it will take to complete this administrative processing, please rest assured that we will contact him as soon as this process is complete.

We hope this is helpful. "

I am sorry that you are under administrative processing.

But as far as I know, there is nothing you can do. You sent them all the documents they need, and now you will just have to wait.

Good luck!

Yeah, there's nothing else you can do except continue to contact them by e-mail maybe once a week until you hear from them. This is the most frustrating part of the whole process. No one can know how long it will take.. some take a few days where others have taken over a year.

We're all here when you need to vent!

Sorry to hear this but they are very strict about reviewing men who wish to immigrate from the "T" countries. Suggest you find a good hobby and we are here for you while u wait.

I hope your wait is a short one.

Hi Nusa,

It seems...sadly normal, that this is happening to you. My husband went through Damascus recently too, but besides obtaining a particular paper which only took a day's delay, he got his visa a few days after. There are two other members were who have also gone through the embassy and who may be able to help you if you need to understand more about the embassy, etc: Jennie-Ammar and santa_cruz. Jennie's hubby recently got approved after a long delay and Santa is gearing up to get it done soon. They are both very kind and sweet ladies...

As for us...hubby took paperwork and bunch of evidence that weighed over a kilo. I don't know if that influenced them, but they did leave him alone for 90 minutes while they looked everything over...so maybe it did.

It seems that in your case, perhaps they are just doing basic security checks to clear the final hurdles...especially if his name is a common Middle Eastern one, this may be more true than not.

Don't worry and just wait..it will be done soon.

Mabrook for getting this far :)

Regards,

Enraptured

Nusa-

My SO is being processed through the Damascus embassy as well. He is living in Damascus. We have been in AP since April of last year and haven't heard a word. From what I have read, the average AP for middle eastern countries is 8-10 months. Hang in there. This is a normal part of the process. That isn't to say it isn't hard. It is the not knowing that is the hardest. Hang in there. Please feel free to PM me anytime. Let's support each other.

Please, everybody, let's take some action on this. I joined American Families United, which is working to institute a 6-month limit to AP. I am also circulating this petition -- please sign it and pass it on to your friends and families. In the petition, I call for a 90-day limit for AP, and a comprehensive review of the entire family visa system to bring it into the 21st century.

I think we should all write to our senators and congresspeople as well -- I am doing so, specifically asking for:

90-day limit on AP; after 90 days, a supervisory review is mandatory, and there must be a reason given for the delay

reducing USCIS I-130 processing times to 90 days instead of the current 120 -150.

Here's the petition:
