Cathay Pacific Online booking...Please Help Urgent

I can't seem to get a straight answer on this one. I wanted to purchase my Fiances flight from Cathay Pacific for Dec 30th and was told that he would have to purchase it himself because tickets originating in philippines must be ticketed in philippines. I then waited 5 min and called Cathay Pacific right back and a different Reservation agent gave me a diffrent story. Told me it was ok to purchase online no problem. Has anybody had success buying their fiances ticket online?

Yes, you can buy the tickets online but you'll need to send a copy of your passport and the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets. She'll need to present these when she checks in.. Also, some websites don't allow you to book tickets for flights originating in the Philippines like Orbitz.com. But others do such as Expedia.com or Kayak.com.

Thanks for your response friend. I just booked him on NWA. I did it through the reservations line. They verified my CC while I was on the phone so my fiance will not need a copy of my card or passport.

yes, she might...the verification on the phone is just for the people who processed the ticket. although not all check-in staff check for photocopy of cc and passport of the person who bought the ticket, some do and you don't want to take the risk of your fiancee's flight getting problematic

I bought cathay pacific plane tickets online for my grandma last june...she was in the phil. that time going here, they asked for a copy of the credit card used to purchase tickets.

Yes, that is what I did, I sent Claudeth the money. She found the ticket for $150 less than anything here anyway.
